Decent VoIP Headphones?

Post by metkillerjoe »

I'm getting a new sound card, and trying to find a good headset for VoIP (Skype) that's comfortable enough to wear for one hour and has an excellent mic.

I have a RadioShack pair that recently bit the dust (mic and stereo connectors just don't want to connect anymore).

I've already started research and I've come up with Sennheiser PC150.

I just got: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Precisio ... B0002XIX0E
This morning. It's is so comfortable, very nice Mic quality, automatic Mic Boost/Noise canceling. Works very well with skype and games.

QFT. I've had these headphones for almost a year. Quality over Ventrillo is pristine. A good setup with these though is to get a 3.5 2-out splitter so you can hook up both your speakers and the headphones. It has very good sound quality for a 30 dollar set, but it does lack bass and it fortifies the sound when you got a set of speakers backing it. Just beware with this set though, Theres 3 screws on the inside of the microphone side. If these break, the whole thing comes off. A few drops and pow. death to the headset. Cords aroundthe Volume adjustment do need reinforcing sometimes, and volume control can be shotty at times, especially when they do get older. But all around, it's a great set.

Just got them off amazon. 6.48 + 7 shipping (they are refurbished).

Thanks for the advice. I liked the look of them on newegg, but a lot of people didn't like the feel.

i had thoes logitech ones and i was not impressed by them. the bass in them are pure rubbish. ive been through about 20 sets in the past year and these are my current ones and my favs of all the ones ive owned.

the bass is unreal and the mic is near perfect. i would dare to say these are better then any logitech pair ive had ever. i had a set of triton ones once before but shoddy soldering spoiled that fun.

Got the others because they were cheap and I wasn't concerned all that much about bass or audio quality. I have my Logitech X-530 speakers for that.... rather Logicool.

On a side note. I haven't ordered the sound card, but I was wondering how people liked the Creative X-Fi Fatality cards (cheaper alternative).

I recommended those ones because he said Skype. I supposed he was just basically going to play games and voice chat. If he had said Audio/Music, I would Have recommended a Creative set like Pepsi. I have two sets of headphones. 1 For Games, 1 For Music.

im using thoes i posted for skype right now as im typing this and as i said, the people im in conference with say my voice is more clear with this then any other headset ive used. i dont use speakers and just use a headset. this current headset is the best of both worlds seriously. on the link i posted above you can check the reviews just as i did before buying them.

just voicing my experience.

Even On Vent with my Logitech ones, Some people couldn't distinguish the quality loss of The Logitech ones and a set of Plantronics ones I had borrowed from my Dad. I just love my Logitech ones well enough and they haven't failed thus far either.
