Old files forums skin was win.

I remember how frustrating it was being here for 2-3 months and not being able to do anything but vehicle .dds skins using maps I got from my friend. And then the sense of accomplishment when I finally got everything modded and got FTP working. I was kind of an asshole back then too. >_>

Also, lol, Tural getting banned. That was the only time I talked to him without feeling like a complete retard.

To be Honest, I miss the Ugly Square Staff logos with the Chevrons. They were hideous, but still kind of... Intimidating. I remember the semi-intelligent conversations had in the User's Cafe. I miss the two different SOTWs. I Miss the whole "Fuck the Moderators" deal way back when. I miss the Dark skin.

Shit you're right. I still have that, so for my Christmas card to HaloMods, I'll upload the chat. I miss Ketchup around here a ton. It's just not right without someone to back up and have back me up all the time. I miss being a Guardian and spending all day IM'ing new members to see if they needed help with modding and welcomed them to the site. Then I became an Arbiter, from there worked my way up to Moderator, then quit. I remember Destroyer training me in the ways of modding back when PC stuff was cool. I remember my first hours in photoshop spent skinning since I was an awful modder (though a fair skinner). I don't miss the terrible grammar I used to have. I miss Logan, and talking often with UltraMagnus (who is actually the one who kept me on Staff after repeated attempts by Malf and others to get me off). I also miss the 7th Sanctum. Greatest mods eva. I also miss the old skin. Despite how much I whine about it, I've got too many memories here to just leave. I've tried it before, and I always come back. I know it's sad to have memories from a website, but this site has managed to work its way into my life to a considerable amount. I also miss Veegie posting more of his work; he's so good. I regret voting Nick out of power; despite not ever agreeing with him. SRG was the man. Grenadiac and I speaking about site issues. Me and SourceGuy coming out with Halo Vicis.

I miss everything: the dark skin, the bright green and red and yellow staff rank colors, the old square staff avatars, guardians, arbiters, staff members like [CL]9mm-Man and tack122, Yomama, MaCeGaC, Mod of the Month, Apocalyptic, Ang88, UltraMagnus, Halomods Enforcers, Introductions & Sig Testing, EqUiNoX, MonoxideC's The Library mod, becoming a moderator and a junior administrator...lots of great memories.

One of the oldest versions of the site.

I'm working on recovering an archive right now so I can get large pieces of the old forums.

I remember when people wished they could make their warthog have a tank turret =D, I remember the first 2 hours of bitmap injection and extraction, the post was so classic, "We just got extraction complete for bitmaps"...1 hour later...."Injection just got finished", I remember the days when I used trulife13, and Team DeFiance was on top, I remember all the drama we had against TF6, the old skin was pure win btw, one thing that I truly do miss is just the way people used to treat each other, lol

That link made me smile. I remember visiting this site when I was first playing Halo PC back in '03. I was scared to join the site because I was young. I didn't want people to think I was just some little kid ruining the forum. I sat around, and would browse the site. I watched the community grow, and become more, and more social with each other. I finally decided to join in '05. I'm glad I did, I met so many awesome people, had so many great conversations, seen so much breakthroughs in modding. It's just been amazing all these years.

I remember downloading the Flamethrower for Halo 1 (Xbox), and downloading custom maps. The Library by Swampfox, ACs Conversion Map Pack. My friends would come over and say "WHOA WERE DID YOU GET THESE?"

I've had lots of good times. Although I miss some of the older members, and the Dark Site. I remember the day the site turned white. It was about 2am in the morning, I had just woken up my computer wallpaper was set to black. I clicked my HaloMods Bookmark. My eyes felt like they were on fire. Now I'm pretty much adjusted to the lighter site. Since HaloMods is my homepage.

I also remember before the merge. Although, I kind of like the merge. It got rid of some of the, err "annoying users".

I love HaloMods. <3 I miss Ketchups though :,(

For me, Countless memories. I remember back when we had the dark skin. I hadn't registered because I was afraid of being ridiculed because I was so young. But I should have known better. I also remember when the name HeadShotMasta was nothing more than anyone else's user name. Now everyone knows who he is, love ya hsm. To many memories! Whatever happened to HSM, JC, and TFD?
