Does this mean we're close to Asset Extraction?
Thanks lej for the sig.

Just another stupid question, How long did Halo 2 modding take? I'm just wondering if Halo 3 modding is going slow or not, seeing as we should have an advantage since we can mod Halo 2.
Thanks lej for the sig.

It is going quite slow because we dont have everything we need to get unsiged code to run on the 360 like we had for the xbox back when H2 came out.

That has little to do with the research.

But this is a research thread, and the entire topic is about research. We don't have the research necessary to mod, and therefore it is the research that is the issue, not the console modification.

True but if we had the console part done we can atleast test/start modding.

Not without proper research you wouldn't.

We do have all the info we need to make a basic mod just need the signing info or the console modifications.

So even if you could run unsigned code, you could not mod, because of the resigning research.

*Continues argument
Unless if we had someone who already researched and blanked out the xex part that checks the resign stuff.
Both win.
Thanks lej for the sig.

Which has nothing to do with public modding, and you'd be in the exact same situation. I win.

In which case the scenario is entirely different, and in no way relevant to the discussion.
