It says he neglected them earlier on. Now I'm sure people want to cure for more than just a good pat on the back. This kind of extreme calls for scientific study as well. Meh, it really sucks to be him..

Man, if I told my science teacher about that, 2 things would happen. I'd probably get looked down on for socializing with one of the most hated teachers in the school and he'd probably get all mad at me cuz he hates everyone in our class.
