By the way UPS, the polar bear drowning.. That's a fact.. Polar bears are drowning due to the smaller amount of ice, they have to swim to get from A to B, sometimes B is too far away from A, and the bear drowns. Global warming doesn't exactly mean humans putting crap out into the air and having it cause some warm greenhouse effect... It's just global warming... warming of the globe. The fact is, the world is getting warmer. But there's no solid, proven explanation for it.

2 things that annoyed me;
1) Stop with the bullshit answers of oh theres natural changes occuring and were just making it worse... There are no natural changes happening and if you all think so please provide some evidence because this sounds more far fetched than the global warming theory alone. The only impact on it is from us. In the last 10 years the yearly average tempature of the earth has risen more than since the ice age. If it was natural it would be spread out and even.
2)UPS as for your comments, there idiotic. The same people who believe in the war in iraq believe in global warming aye? You might want to check your politics cause its the oposite way. Repulicans believe in the war and dont believe in global warming, Democrats believe in global warming and dont believe in the war. Do some research before you post aragantly.

Yes the methane thing is true, but that too is man's doing in a way. I mean who put fields full of cows? With growing human population comes a growing amount of cows (which lead to more hamburgers and the like) necesary to feed us all!
Perhaps we should all stop eating all them cows, and switch over to a different, less methane releasing, animal to feed us!
Think about it

I have yet to see you back up anything you have said with a reliable source. Where does a scientist say that global warming is true 100% the way you are describing it? Where does one say that there is no chance it could be natural changes?Yamagushi wrote:2 things that annoyed me;

Do you guys think that meat really does cause 20% of global warming and that everyone should stop eating it entirely?

France/Spain exactly the same.TomClancey wrote:Same. I live in Southern Ohio, and I find that the winter season keeps getting pushed back further and further. Just a few weeks ago, it was in the mid 70's. Which, for the winter season, is pretty warm.kibito87 wrote:I do believe Global Warming is real and may pose a problem in the future. Whether it's the direct future or sometime to come. I don't know where everyone lives but here in Ohio throughout the years, it seems as though the seasons are being pushed back to different months then what they used to be. We don't have much snow till the very end of December and through January. It can last through probably March or even April. Back when I was a youngster, snow and winter came in November not so much January. I personally believe that is a result of global warming.
Exactly what I was about to post.Ombre wrote:I have yet to see you back up anything you have said with a reliable source. Yamagushi, easy with the attitude. You're the "idiot"... if Global Warming was caused 100% by CO2 emissions and it was a 'proven fact' there would be no debate, nobody would be questioning it... and this thread wouldn't exist.
You've basically come here, said it's a 100% proven fact, then when people argue against that, you call them idiotic and just re-cite your own words.
If anything, UPS' posts make more sense then any of yours thus far...
We all have our opinions like you do, and we are all free to share them.Yamagushi wrote:2 things that annoyed me;

If there has been previous ice ages (a couple at least), then I think it's safe to say it's a natural cause. And since humans do pollute the Earth more than anything on the planet, then I think it's safe to say that humans are provoking something as well.

Well JK, pretty much everything other than human techonology is natural, has a natural cause, and has a natural 'end'.
Think about it:
You'd consider a pile of dog poo as pollution right? (Why else do we clean up dog poo if we don't consider it such?) It's completely natural, made from inside a natural non-robotic dog, and ends up becoming fertillizer.
What I'm saying is everything usually ends up helping the environment.
Forest fires burn away old habitats, but they also help fertilize the ground and ready the area for new habitation.
It's true that humans pollute the earth more than anything else, but that amount of pollution is so minuscule that it will most likely never effect us.
People realize that global warming is like a gold mine, that's why so many people like scientists and crap claim it's true.
Yamagushi...
Firstly..
When in geology, looking at rock structure deep underground. You have to realize that there are large time-spans in between when each layer of rock was created.
I doubt that the earth would just heat up and cool back down in just ten years. All these big, natural things that are changing all the time TAKE time. I'll bet you that in the next few hundred years (some time, whether it's sooner or later) the earth begin to 'spread out and even' as you said.

Ten years is nothing for the Earth. Ten years is a very long time for US, but think about all of the earth's forces as they are-Yamagushi wrote:If it was natural it would be spread out and even.

Ugh... You're saying I'm idiotic? Let's see what you are referring to..Yamagushi wrote:2)UPS as for your comments, there idiotic. I'll add another quote to this too.I wrote:You are hearing this global warming **** from the same people who demonize your own brother for fighting in Iraq.

For anybody still wondering where FTD has gone, here it is.
Ever heard of the Ice Age? In case you didn't notice, the Ice Age came to an end.Yamagushi wrote:2 things that annoyed me;

Hairspray and CO2 emissions didn't end the Ice Age.
I'm XBC Requiem, in case none of you noticed.

Political arguments will get this thread locked. Politics is not the issue here, and propaganda like that which has been posted will not be tolerated. It isn't up for discussion, and arguing will only drive the topic further towards problems. This isn't just a first warning, this is an only warning. Continuing such comments will result in punishment.
Recycling paper puts out more chemicals harmful to the earth than cutting down a tree grown on a plantation specifically for the use of paper, in which, are not extinct or anything... Not sure on cans and whatnot.Philly wrote:Personally, I see no harm in putting out recycling and filling up the composter every week.

Just makin sure everyone knows... I'm not a firm believer in human caused global warming.. It may appear so due to my posts... but I'm not.. :p

Not if the theory that's being depended on is true. There was an Ice Age, and it did end.
What you are doing by saying that we are causing global warming is trying to see the future when in this situation you cannot possibly figure out the cause other than if you were terribly lucky. Earthquakes cause tons of destruction, and at the time you may think "Oh god, this is a disaster!" But thirty years later you know that it HAPPENS, and that it ends.
Ombre, like I said, you can't say you know something is absolute, is 100% true that is on such a colossal scale as the entire atmosphere of this entire planet is heating up in only ten, even fifty years.
Just to add, global warming could not even be that bad of a thing were it true. Don't forget that the human race is INCREDIBLY adaptive, and our brain capabilities help this further. I don't see polar bears living in insulated, well heated houses, and they manage, so does that not show that we could not adapt some way to take advantage of global warming were it to occur?

I do want the world to end, or like the letters say " Without a whimper, but a bang", or vice versa, I just don't want to have to die horribly. But since an Ice Age is on subject, think about it: History details show that before the first Ice Age, the planet was hot, then when it ended, the world began to heat up again
and caused a second Ice Age. What of our Era? I think we are
contributing to the Planets heating and soon 1-2-3 hundred or maybe a melenia ( spelling??), but I think we will either die of an armada midget ninja's, weather, or an Ice Age.
