i have tried and it confuses me because it views the map from the side not from the top.
also when i enter coordinates it seems to do nothing
*EDIT* got entity to work but how do i tell exactly where the point i pluged in is because it just shows different views of the map
*EDIT2* is there a way to delete player spawns

Try redownloading and reinstalling the CoordFinder.
The BSP Viewer's coordinate finding function doesn't work for me either. Whatever the x coordinate is set to also sets the y and z coordinates, so if I search for (20, 5, 10), it always takes me to (20, 20, 20).
If the reinstall doesn't work, then go in the BSP Viewer, select a crate, move it around, then deselect it and reselect it. When you reselect it, it will tell you its new coordinates. You can also watch the XYZ coords that are reported as you fly the camera around, but it's always hard for me to gauge precisely where the camera is.

goto the directory where you extracted the files, go in the folder called settings and open the file in not pad, then past the directory to you mainmenu shared and sp shared there.

When you open entity for the first time it should ask to point it to these external maps I maybe wrong do as doomer says
Which entity is best is a tough one I use
1.39 for most things
1 alpha for bsp work (due to crap graphix card)
1.4 for all things bitmap and renaming tags
1.6 with updated plugins for research
and I have 3 versions of 1.3 each with different updated plugins I'd go with doomer and choose 1.39 to start with
As for moving stuff, read some tuts Mr ball's adding new things covers it I think, its all based around the arrow keys
