Vista sucks!!!
Vista sucks!!!
Just kidding about the title, just wanted to attract people who have vista, whether they like it or not.
Here's my problem: I know how to make it so that files have a default program to open with, I've found at least three ways to do that, however, I don't know how to undo file association. I accidentally linked .scenario files to open with sapien. I click on them, Sapien runs, it prompts me for a file, then rejects any scenarios i try to open, because it no longer reads them as scenarios. in vista i see no way of returning the file to its previous unopenable state, or deleting its associated programs in any way. This is really pissing me off because I can no longer use sapien, and I have several projects in motion. Please help me, and thanks in advance!

How bout back up all your tags and uninstall HEK.
this has nothing to do with the HEK! and both of you two, did you even read my post? The first sentence is just kidding about the title.... It a file type association problem which is the operating systems fault, it has nothing to do with HEK... at all. And if you're so smart you go ahead and try. try to disassociate .txt's from notepad.

you can set file type associations by going to the start menu, going to control panel, right clicking the file, or going to properties (at least). Although NOWHERE does it allow the option to undo.... maybe they forgot to put in the option?cryticfarm wrote:In vista theres a default programs bar right in the start menu. I donno if it will work though.

HOLY CRAP it works... Thanks a lot man, that a great temporary fix so I can continue mapping!cryticfarm wrote:K, I have it, right click a scenario file. Then in properties press the change thing for it. Change it to notepad and then you can open it with sapien. I don't think there is a way to open it without having to go to sapien and double clicking.
