Any ideas on how a 13-year-old could raise 2k?

Good for you. That's not the discussion here.
well technically he is suggesting become a DJ and charge 1 grand a gig.

well for me i could ask to work at several small dinners, get a couple bucks a week form allowance, mow lawns and do anything with dogs cats birds and or fish. those are the possibilities for me making 2 grand and that is not the greatest deal for me my dad is a wiz at getting good deals for ebay.

well as for your delema do what you can in your spare time as everyone else said small dinners dogs lawns what ever you can do in your spare time.

You could become a soccer referee... little late for that though. Every couple of months I'll make over $300 just working a couple hours on Saturday every weekend.

Cuda-Well, my friend's dad owns a couple of pool and spa stores... It'd be hard though. I mean, it's not easy to go to your friend's dad and say "can I work for you for minimum wage so I can get a new computer?" I'd love it more than anything to work at a real job, but I'm underage, and I don't even think it's legal for someone under 15 to work for money unless it's like a family business.
Thats where "payment Under the Table" comes from. Just ask nicely. Don't say It's for anything. If he does in fact ask, don't say laptop. Say Computer. They hear " Laptop" they think Useless(even moreso if they hear "gaming" involved. Explain your need for a new computer. If Illegals can Change Bedsheets at a Motel 6, a 13 year old can get a job for minimum wage restocking shelves.

Hrm, well turns out my computer actually booted up after waiting like an hour... g4y thing. So if he did ask it wouldn't just be for a computer. But thanks for the suggestions guys.

Well if your not legally aloud to work as an employee somewhere you can always go to some small business and ask to be paid "under the table." You can also try selling stuff on ebay 8) . Pawn some stuff off. Play guitar on the side of the street. Sell lemonade. These just keep coming to me as I type. I'll think of some more ways later.

I was just suggesting for him to do entertainment. Not hard to get into as a small venue business (singer, DJ, MC, etc....)

We're all aware that was an unrealistic suggestion, but there was no reason for that out burst.

There was no reason for the unrealistic outburst to begin with.

I'll give you $1 Australian dollar once our economy enters a recession...You'll have to convert it to USD too, but its the thought that counts.
Coz right now, you'd be getting too much money out of my dollar...92 cents is more than you would have gotten in ages.

Other than that, I wish you good luck because I find this to be quite impossible sorry...So you'll need that luck :P
