Block adding and editing is simple.

Same for custom user groups.

Block added to main page, and can be edited by the created group.

Took me a bit longer because I broke the database when I was changing things, but the whole process wouldn't take more than 5 minutes on a correctly functioning installation (As HM has).

It's even possible to make the block a PHP block, where you wouldn't need to enter any HTML code, you could just fill in variables and it would make the block correctly (I believe, haven't messed with PHP blocks yet).

This is awsome im so competeing . You guys rock Nice idea btw. and ya php blocks are fun

ran a site for the past 2 years lets just say i did what you guys are doing in a way with screenshots and main page but i did it for Many games in different sections of a series like Gorriest doom 3 pic and same for bioshock and stuff it was pretty cool sadly I have had a technical difficulty and lost all the site and lost everything and due to having no files for site andn o free time canceled it ... sorry for rambleing

Well, I'll let this sit for a week, allowing me to write the definitive rules for this comp and also in hope that Grenadiac will reply. However, if he doesn't I will attempt to do the normal way of just front page news (hopefully I'll still get story approval ;P) and wait for implementation of Tural's style later.

Well in reality, I think you should focus more on the SOTW itself than the front page. I mean, who actually uses (or looks at) the front page..?

I like this idea. I would also suggest allowing users to post which screenshots they approve to be SOTW. Nice idea scotty.

Yes. It's a screenshot competition, not an image editing ability competition.

If you are indeed not having a random contest each week, I see no reason why one of the weeks (or some of them) could be the best screenshot manip. Or, it could be allowed on a time-by-time basis. But yeah, other than that I don't think it should be allowed either.

I'm sure I could mix in a few themes here and there (like manip, or whatever), but the majority will be made for you to focus on the best shot in general
