Well, I thought that maybe this could be something fun to do.
Since this is just discussion at the moment, it won't go into the competition section yet...
So yeah, I thought we should have some kind of frequent Halo 3 screen-shot competition. Simple enough really, you guys submit one (1) of your screen-shots either straight from B.net or edited in Photoshop (to a small degree. See the hires photography thread for examples) and be in the running to "win" for the week.
I wanted to discuss 2 things about it first though. So first up, how would this system work?
-Would we make a poll to vote with?
OR
-Would we post to say who's shot we like best at the end of the week (my choice, SOTW style)?
OR
-Would we just leave the picking to a select few critics who will be left to choose the best one?
Second, would you guys actually want this? Its just a bit of fun and would hopefully take the extra step in capturing that perfect sticky/snipe/pose/vista.
The "prize" if you can call it that would be a post on the front page of this site, announcing that you took the best shot along with the actual screen-shot for all to see. This would also work with JK's plans of having frequent front page news. Also, the thread would also have your picture in the first post of the competitions thread along with just hyper-links to the previous winners, so their beauty could forever be kept.
There would be two threads, one for submissions and one for voting. So while people are voting for the week, people can submit new pictures for the next week. This would make the competition flow and we'd have an actual weekly winner rather than it be 1 week of submissions and 1 week of voting.
I personally think it'd be orsm...But this thread is to see what YOU think...

Adding a block to the main page is very, very simple. It wouldn't take more than a minute to do. There are also three categories of members: users, moderators, and admins. Moderators can be given access to the story approvals, as well as the block content editing. So if we had an admin set up the simple block and promote a few people to moderators, we could get this going (As well as the discussion in C&S).
