Soft edges on base scenery

Post by AmericanXplorer13 »

I'm creating a forunner base scenery. I'm able to export everything well, and place the scenery in Sapien. When I place the model, I have what you could call, "soft edges". Even though I didn't use any smoothing groups, but I keep getting the same result. Does it have anything to do with the Bounding Radius in Guerilla? I just always enter 5000 for that...

I usually use more than one material, but I was in a hurry.

Why are there "soft edges"?

Your using smoothing for sure. Wait, do you see the smoothing in max? If not try selecting your whole model and in the smoothing groups section, press clear all.

I swear, I haven't been using any smoothing. I even checked before I gave it a material ID.

What do you mean a render? Does it matter that I'm using Gmax???

Ok, lets get some things straight. When it comes to modeling, I'm not a noob. I catch on very quickly and have been modeling for months. I think I'd know if I'm using smoothing groups or not... I've checked everything and turned everything that even has the word "smooth" to a value of zero. The edges are still smooth. Sorry this is taking so long, but it's something I'd like to get fixed. Thanks!
