or if your desperate enough 2 get it it u can take a road trip to the building where halo 3 was made, get past ungodly security features and take the hard drives in all the bungie computers.Prey wrote:Xbox 360 games are designed using Microsoft's Xbox 360 Development Kit. They are coded in C++ and are debugged using a variety of other special tools built for running on/with debug 360s. To access the 360's hardware and for graphical output etc, a modified version of the DirectX9 libraries are used. And developers make full use of the functions in these libraries, which for example can be seen in near every 360 game having the same swizzle code for their textures: It is an included function. The company could also decide to invest in Havok's physics engine, which Bungie did decide to do.
As for models, Autodesk's 3DS Max and also Maya are used, as has been stated, and Photoshop/Illustrator etc for textures.
In-house software is also of great importance, and has the sole purpose of being making things easier to do (change bullet speeds, move rocks, etc), yet staying communicative with the company's engine. In the case of Halo, Sapien and Guerrilla.
As for hacking into Bungie to get at their engine code, 'tis no small feat...unless you know how to hijack a Bungie employee's computer across the internet who has a high enough access level in order to get into their local-only server and be able to download the latest build of the engine.. or manage to connect to them by being near their building.. but that would be a pretty long shot, and even then they would have some sort of encryption working against you. But assuming you get past all that, well.. well done =P
sounds like something i would do in a video game so plz dont try it
