you know how theres always bumping of old topics and get gets kinda annoying?
what if the moderators locked topics that havent seen replies in a months time? like after a month of the last reply to the topic it is automatically locked? this might curb the bumping of old things overcasting newer ones.
and simply something like this when locking to the effect of..
"topic locked due to monthly reply timeout. if the original author of the thread needs to add or update please contact a moderator so we can unlock it for you to edit/update"
just a suggestion tbh ..
old topic bumping solution maybe?

Locking old topics is a gross over-generalization. First of all, there are times when bumping is legitimate. Perhaps a major update, or a new development. If a bump is worthwhile, it is allowed. Furthermore, if there's a bump, you can always report it and it will be taken care of. The report system isn't there just to add a pretty button on posts (Anymore :3).

well i understand the time consuming efforts that would be needed, in the end it was just a general idea. sometimes old topic bumping is funny thoe cause you see a old mod brought back to the front again.
thanks for hearing me out thoe.

on other forums i have seen a warning upon posting, like:
Warning: this thread hasn't received any replies in X days, blah blah blah
That way nobody has to do any locking, and people actually learn about the rule before the post instead of being yelled at after they break it (assuming they didn't read the rules, which is sadly common...).
Also, like Tural said, there are legitimate bumps, which will still be allowed.
is there some way of implementing this here?
