Guess what's wrong with halomods now!
I haven't been here in a few days, but the very first topic (lol wut) I read when I get back actually managed to piss me off.
I'm not even going to beat around the bush. I love to tell you guys how to do your job. I won't lie. But I generally don't go actually demand that you do something. Not this time! Straight up, Tural should be demodded, if not simply to show that halomods isn't affiliated with his attitude.
My favorite part is that he doesn't edit the post to fix it, he doesn't PM the person asking them to fix it, he doesn't even post telling them what's wrong and how to fix it. Too busy writing the thesis statement to your rebuttal post? I seriously want to give you a giant fucking internet punch in the face.
DISCUSS, EVERYONE
you lock, you lose
EDIT: People who didn't read the topic before now, will have trouble understanding this one, because all the posts we're talking about are gone.

Surprise! You aren't the role model for moderators everywhere!I'll admit I've done worse **** and openly flamed members on one occasion probably. Oops, my bad, move on.
This isn't some kind of minor failing on his part. It's practically turning halomods into facepunch. He has the power to resolve a situtation nicely, and doesn't. There's no reason he should have his powers. Anyone can clean up spam, move topics to the rightful places, etc. We don't have to settle for someone who is going to act like this.

You're going to make Locke sad with you GTAF.
Anyway, I've noted a lot of pointless arguments that are a quest to be the most right or whatever...I find it annoying and pointless, I now see myself not bothering to read certain posts any more...
I was going to clean it up, but for now I'll leave it for reference for the people that come to this thread...Unless of course, if Chad wants it out, I'll remove it straight away.

Re: Guess what's wrong with halomods now!
This implies that I am responsible for fixing a competition that is not organized by the staff. I have no place editing posts to fix them. I was simply pointing out that they violated the rules of the contest. I told Chad, before he made it, when he asked if he could, that I would not moderate the submissions.Danke wrote:My favorite part is that he doesn't edit the post to fix it, he doesn't PM the person asking them to fix it, he doesn't even post telling them what's wrong and how to fix it.
Following that, LSAH went out of his way to start an argument. I did not. He instigated the conflict with me. I merely said that the submissions had violated the rules. He took that to mean it was currently violating the rules, and built a huge argument on it. I had no intention of starting a fight. My tone with the posts about the submissions breaking the rules was more of a light-hearted mocking, like "Well, this is going well so far." It did not become an issue until he kept trying to get me to argue with him. Also, he continuously harassed me about my typing, which was completely out of context of the conversation, he was just doing it to further irritate me. This is my fault as well, I suppose?
Moderation isn't limited to the powers. You went out of your way to post that he was doing it wrong, I don't see why you didn't just fix it or tell him to fix it.I would not moderate the submissions.
Doesn't make you justified in taking part in the conflict. He instigated the conflict with me.
To put it simply, you're unfriendly, it makes halomods look bad, and I don't see why you should be a moderator when we can have one of the bagillions who can do the job without the attitude.
I was telling him to fix it. The post was pretty clear in pointing out what was wrong with it.Danke wrote:Moderation isn't limited to the powers. I'll agree with that, but to put blame on me for the conflict is not accurate. He went out of his way to start the argument, I was merely following up on his inaccurate claims. Would you rather I just constantly delete such people's posts, instead of responding to them?
As for being unfriendly, again, that was not my doing. He started an argument. He was attacking me with his post. My responses were hardly as "unfriendly" as he was acting. Yet, I see no comments about what he said, you're only addressing me.

It probably got removed when I was splitting Voided's post, and I didn't notice it, or it was posted right as I split it.noscottno wrote:Apparently my last post broke some invisible rule.
LT instigated the argument by says a *** comment to Tural. Tural should have quit there, or took it to pm.
Even then, in PMs, the situation would still be, as Danke calls it, "unfriendly." It doesn't really matter where it was, he's expressing that I'm apparently more unfriendly than those flaming me, seeing as how they get no mention whatsoever. If anything, an argument in PMs would be more heated than on the board. Also, I was the one attempting to end the conflict. I asked Lt to stop arguing, he responded with "You are a fucking idiot."
Don't what, respond to or remove comments harassing me? Just let them stay there, serving no purpose, having no discussion?Danke wrote:How about "JUST DON'T"
Except you aren't making halomods look unfriendly. You're making just yourself look unfriendly. Which is fine with me, because you are unfriendly.Tural wrote:Even then, in PMs, the situation would still be, as Danke calls it, "unfriendly."
They aren't staff. I think you're missing the point. It doesn't really matter where it was, he's expressing that I'm apparently more unfriendly than those flaming me, seeing as how they get no mention whatsoever.
I'm not trying to better the human race and tell everyone to "play nice."If anything, an argument in PMs would be more heated than on the board. Also, I was the one attempting to end the conflict. I asked Lt to stop arguing, he responded with "You are a *** idiot."
If by "constantly delete" you meant delete posts in a topic about SOTW that were about YOU and not SOTW, then yes, you should delete them. I think I read over the word "such" before.Don't what, respond to or remove comments harassing me? Just let them stay there, serving no purpose, having no discussion?
Well then.Danke wrote:Except you aren't making halomods look unfriendly. You're making just yourself look unfriendly. Which is fine with me, because you are unfriendly.

But should not all members be responsible for not causing or continuing problems?
Fair enough. At the time, however, I felt that the discussion would have ended reasonably. It clearly didn't end up that way, but giving the discussion a chance to have a legitimate conclusion was, in my opinion, better than just removing posts which weren't that off-topic, and were more of a side note to the competition than about me solely. However, once it got to the point it was at today (Wasn't on during the time the more recent comments had been posted, so I didn't see them until a while after they were made), it was time to remove it, as I did.
I can see the prospectives from both sides. But I will disagree with tural being unfriendly. From personal experiences of arguing with tural it always ended up that I was wrong, and with most other cases the same. Tural may not be out showing his friendliness but don't go criticizing him on it if your not sure. Without even knowing me to swell hes been quite friendly with me and others, in Xbox live and on the forums. You all see the wrong point of view, Hes only unfriendly when someone either says something completely regardless of the topic of which they are posting in, When someone discredits or flames his posts when clearly he was right, or when someone posts something so ridiculous and stupid and continues to go on about it when quite frankly it doesn't make any sense at all. You just don't want to start things with him. No one is perfect and I think no demotion should happen, I believe he moderates just fine and does his job very well, simple as this, Don't start things with tural if not needed, obviously the other guy built up the fight, I think the entire point of this thread wasn't needed. Just my opinions.
