Flood can infect pretty much anything with a nervous system, though they obviously prefer creatures that would create a good combat form. Hunters would just be a bunch of worm floods, which aren't very combat-like. Grunts and jackals are too small. Now, I believe that they would actually be more inclined to infect something big, like an engineer.

but wouldn't the aggressiveness come from the flood? I think Private Jenkins in the book got infected. His parasite infection form was weak enough for him to keep consciousness and awareness, so he tried to kill people, but he didn't exactly want to. The hunger for killing came from the infection form itself. This should also apply to an Engineer.

I don't think Engineers have any means of causing harm.Aumaan Anubis wrote:but wouldn't the aggressiveness come from the flood? I think Private Jenkins in the book got infected. How do you expect them to cause harm? They don't fire weapons, they don't do anything aggressive at all. They are not equipped to cause any damage to anything. If a Flood did infect it, it would be a total waste.Aumaan Anubis wrote:but wouldn't the aggressiveness come from the flood? I think Private Jenkins in the book got infected. it's all how the flood uses the host. I'm pretty sure that Engineers have some kind of tentacles, which could be used to kill. Elites didn't have the strength to jump 50 feet across a room at Master Chief, but once infected, they became a lot more powerful. Once again, I assume this would also apply to the engineer.

Well, if the Engineers had a characteristic preventing the flood from forcing agressiveness, then yes, I would be completely wrong.Tural wrote:Well there's no evidence to support that assumption, so this argument is going nowhere. Considering we've never seen them function, and they are very ill-defined in the books, you really can't make any generalization like that, because there's nothing at all to suggest it's possible.

Engineers can float so it would be difficult for a flood infection form to infect them, granted a few shots to kill then infect them would work, but as Tural has said, it'd be a waste, and not just a "oh, hey, let's do it" kind of a waste, but the "holy crap, why are we doing this? it's difficult and stupid!" kind of waste.

Would it be possible for somebody to go through the map files to find the engineer somewhere just like they did with the IWHBYD skull?

Agreed, considering the fact one helps master chiefs armor in the book "first strike". I would like it if there was an Engineer building on big maps where you go in and they will help you repair your vehicle, but for it to be fair enemy's can shoot you while your in there.HPDarkness1 wrote:Though it was cut from the game it is still considered a creature in the Halo Universe. I wish they had put it in Halo 3, just as neutral AI, that repair vehicles, and such.

...why? Your vehicle won't die as long as someone is alive inside of it. If the vehicle's already broken, you can't drive it...so that rules out that theory. It's just a pointless idea.Halo4Ever wrote:I would like it if there was an Engineer building on big maps where you go in and they will help you repair your vehicle, but for it to be fair enemy's can shoot you while your in there.
