i would think the rest of the covenant scociety prefered the elites to the brute as they had been in power longer than the brutes, the brutes only took power because the prophets ordered the elites to stand down.

The closest thing to that is the XBLA version that was released a while back. Other than that, no, there has been no word of that.

The ending just proved it was an infinite plot loop, chief freezes himself, wants to be awaken when Cortana needs him, and she wakes him up to the events of the beginning of Halo: Combat Evolved, and it all starts again. ^_^

bungie will definetly make another game in the same universe and maybe with the MC or/and the Arbiter, reason: they've made so much money out of the series, why would they stop making games about it, if they made a new game it wouldn't be called halo 4 or anything with halo in it.

besides, in the movie before the credits, i forgot who but either the arbiter or the ship master elite said "let's go home and check on things"......... something might have attacked and their you go a whole new story, also bungie never said this was the last game they just said "Finish the fight" and we have, that war is over, time for a new 1

Oh yeh and i beat halo 3 on legendary can someone plz explain the extra legendary movie to me?

yes he did say "take us home"

and if they make another game involving arbiter or master chief i think it will start by the arbiter running into trouble on his way home and sends a distress single to earth, and a UNSC ship goes to help when they find cortonas beacon and master chief comes along for the fight.

or bungie could do a remake of marathon with the MC as the main character, although i doubt it, i think the next halo will be mostly about the arbiter and maybe flash you to the MC every once in a while, and um Cortana says i'll miss you before the MC says wake me up if you need anything, and if you follow the books Cortana is going to die her programing is too advanced so that she only lives 7 years same as all smart AI, idk if bungie is going to follow the books but I think that Cortana is saying she won't be there for the next mission.

Reason im saying that the next one may be all about the Arbiter is, grunts sided with the Prophets, as did jackals, buggers, brutes. so when they get back there might still be a big civil war going on same as when they left or at least a few scattered fights among the brutes that are left and the elites. Or maybe a faction of the Covenant is still following a minor Prophet that took control on some Covey world and its up to the Arbiter and his men to go and stomp out the rebellion to ensure nothing like the Prophets rise to power and brain wash everyone again.

I'm sure the Chief is aware of Cortana's programming. The "wake me when you need me" probably means that yeah, she'll wake Chief when they get picked up, but she should also tell him when she's going to "die."

There are plenty of references to marathon in halo 3. It doesn't mean the games main character are one in the same in any way.
