1.the man cannon was going to be an actual stationary weapon that used bipeds as projectiles that could be aimed
2.custom game brodcasting

Technically an "unincluded feature" doesn't even have to be something that was announced but wasn't implemented.
So yeah, i'd say real time reflections.
Hell, mirrors would be pretty damn nice. It's things like that that, in my opinion, make a game great.
Gameplay nowadays is pretty much the same. Mirrors should be implemented. When I say mirrors, no, I don't mean actual wall mirrors, but that's included in the general term. I'm talking about not just eye candy reflections, i'm talking about reflections that can be used to your advantage and disadvantage. You're walking to a door, and on the glass you see someone sneaking up behind you. Walking across the room in a covenant-like building (or whatever) you might see a guy running across behind you.
No, it's nothing like the motion sensor. It's reality.

RTRs are actually quite expensive to implement, especially in 'hectic' games such as Halo. Effectively your placing the camera in the place of the mirror, pointing it in the right direction (relevant to the player), and then rendering the whole scene from that perspective. You then place that resulting render in a texture, and then apply that texture to your 'mirror' when you actually render the whole scene for real.
That's time consuming, especially when it means that your going to have to go through an extra culling process as well. (algorithm that removes polygons/objects that are not in sight)...We're talking every 1/30-60 of a second here too >_>

Microsoft is making a new engine now with an almost limitless max number of people(they said like 1000 but meh) imagine this with halo 4 and dont think OH NOES LAG!! neh, no lag, thats teh point of the new one, it will only update u on those immidiatly around you instead of telling your xbox that someone halfway across the map is moving left... and changing weapons... and is now picking his nose and so on and so forth.
Don't be.

Then the server would be a dedicated one...since someone HAS to know every position/actions of every player.Yamagushi wrote:Microsoft is making a new engine now with an almost limitless max number of people(they said like 1000 but meh) imagine this with halo 4 and dont think OH NOES LAG!! neh, no lag, thats teh point of the new one, it will only update u on those immidiatly around you instead of telling your xbox that someone halfway across the map is moving left... and changing weapons... and is now picking his nose and so on and so forth.
