Halo 3 Oddball

I have been playing a lot of Lone Wolf and the same old bullshit happens everytime. The oddball is picked up and the man stays behind a bubble shield or next to a halo 3 shield door thing and wins by 45 points all because it is impossible to double team them. I truly think they should fix the beat down damage of the oddball.

You may believe the reason I lost is because of skill. Think about it though, if you have an oddball in a ffa game, how are you gonna double team them without a microphone?

I hate lone wolves because one person gets the Hammer and one gets the sword and then it's all over.

Also, I think 1:00 is too short for the oddball games.

i havent lost an oddball match in a while because of that....yes its annoying if they have the ball...but when you have you win.

I agree with doorm4n, ive seen this happen a few times and it is highly annoying. Also 1:00 is definately too short.

Why would the other 4 players be trying to kill anyone other than the Oddball guy? In my opinion, that strategy should only work if everyone else is a complete idiot.

umm have you played the oddball? you have 3 ppl going after the guy with the ball u shoot then other 2, the final guy is already damaged from the other 2 shooting him, all the other ppl are dead and u have the ball.

What? Gametag is saying the camping with the ball strategy would only work if everyone in the game is an idiot, and decides to just ignore the ball carrier.

he said how could someone do that, i just explained why the other people would shoot people that dont have the ball, the camping also works as ive seen it happen, they hide behind a shield u cant shoot them, u come to close they bash u with a 1 hit kill and ur done.

You're missing the entire point of Gametag's post.

DoorM4n said you can't kill them in the Bubble Shield, because you can't get two people going after him at once.
Gametag said the only reason people wouldn't be going after him all the time is if they're idiots.
You started talking about killing other people, without the ball, which makes the exact problem DoorM4n is talking about.

You are suggesting ways to make the problem occur, not to solve it.

So again, I ask, "What are you talking about?"

No actually, I wasn't. Did you even read my post dude?

I was asking why in a 5 player game, where only one person can have the Oddball at any given moment, the other 4 players would not work together to kill the Oddball carrier.

I do completely agree with gametag but all people I play Lone Wolf are idiots and kill. The basic concept of kill or be killed is on every gametype in Halo 3 and never will change.

Yeah, well, some gametypes suck. They will always suck. You're never going to fix it, because there's always going to be something else that sucks. Complaining does nothing. Anyone can point out problems, the leaders are those who provide solutions.

I just now played another oddball game but tried a different approach.

I end up playing anther oddball game with a bunch of retards who can't think like a logical homosapien.

In the lobby I tell all 4 people to kill the man with the oddball first before you start killing random others. I also said it makes no sense to kill a random guy while someone is holding the oddball and winning. 3 of the 4 guys agree and that 4th guy cursed me out. I instantly told him how people lose respect when they cuss and doesn't make them wisely stand out in the crowd. So we play the game and no one even grasped the concept at all. Everyone was running around killing the people who were killing the guy with the oddball. I become angry and tell these guys to start killing the oddball man or we are gonna lose. So, people remain idiots and kill all the people killing the oddball guy. We all end up losing by about 40 seconds. Complete bullshit.

My patience grows weak.

What rank are you? That will probably be a major factor.

The problem isn't so major with me. They only kill if you get in their way. Just get better at sticking...Stick the oddball guy, then take it, then everyone's fighting between eachother and you win.

I like oddball this time around. I find the 1 hit kill melee is quite good because its only useful if you tuck yourself up in a corner...Anywhere else and you're screwed.

aghhh i hate that too. im like one shot away from killing the odd man and then out of nowhere someone throws a grenade from behind and then the odd man throw a bubble shield and wack me... also the guy that threw the grenade also died....
