The Battle Rifle was "ownage" in Halo 2 because every other gun (excluding Sniper/Beam Rifle and Rocket Launcher) was crap. Also, they took out the glitches it had (BXR, RRX, I'm looking at you)...is that why everyone's complaining about it?

Sniping should be hard...ever tried aiming at someone while they're running at an angle and you--hold on, someone's at the door.
I agree entirely, the battle rifle was halo 2 onlines biggest problem. I couldnt stand that damn weapon... It was so overpowered it wasnt at all fun to have in the game especially as a starting weapon. And all the damn people using bxr, on kai there are people with that in there name, people proud to use it.... its a glitch that makes an overpowered weapon even more powerful.

The sniper rifle wasn't too bad in halo 2 but it was a little quick and getting sniped constantly did get annoying. As far as i know all they really did was slow it down slightly.

These are not things that they messed up, these are things they corrected. Ive been playing halo 3 almost none stop since it was launched, tho there are a lot of things about this game i dont like there all in the caimpaign. So far i feel the weapon balancing is perfect this time around. No matter what weapon u got u have a good chance of winning, its skill now instead of poor balancing and cheap tricks and so all the BR lovers are gonna hate it.
Don't be.

Yes, but now every other gun isn't crap, except maybe the smg. The AR would be a tough match for even the old BR up close. I think they should of left it how it was seeing as they made all the others stronger; especially the needler, it would beat the old BR up close easy.

oh noes, we have to rely on skill now instead of the BR?!?!

As I said, SMG may suck on its own, but that's why they put in dual-weilding. ;p

They made all the other weapons balanced, not just stronger. The Needler has always been kind of a shit weapon, so they wanted people to have a reason to pick it up. But because of the increased damage + fire rate, it in turn got lower ammo and a fairly lower range/homing quality...which is what we call balance. As for it being able to beat even the old Battle Rifle up close...well it is a close range weapon.

For a conclusion to this trilogy, they really left us hanging to whether the Chief died or not. :(

Yeah, really.

Getting rid of Blood Gulch (Coagulation or whatever floats your boat.) and Beaver Creek was a big mistake in my opinion, I loved those maps. :(

Any chance Bungie might release them as bonus maps later on?

I hope so.

Well if you look at it this way, Valhalla is the new Coagulation.

Valhalla is/was meant to be a "spiritual successor" to Blood Gulch/Coagulation.

It's possible that they'll bring back an old map or two in a future map pack...but for now, I think we can all make due with the maps we have.

Similar to the guardian lockout transition...don't understand why people are wanting to bring up new maps already...I don't even know the layouts of most of them! :)

@GTAF below: omg how could I forget that... -1 halo fanboyism

I like the new Zanzibar. It seems smaller though. Hmmm

How about the base? Is that big area in the back of it just for looks? The place past the fence?

I love last resort. Another thing i truly love are the effects from the weapons(...fades away into long daydream...)
I can't wait to start modding mainly because i love the effects, and im going to love making projectiles. the only dissapointments i have are the friends list(too slow), running speed(too slow), and sniper rifle(takes too much effort to kill with, i know, im lazy)
Other than that, i love how bungie took out BXR, double shot, and other annoying liitle glitches.(i could never do them) but overall, its a great game. love the high res bitmaps!!
