Post by Yamagushi »

Im trying to connect my xbox online using my wireless laptop however my laptops only coming up as 1272(1300) for the max MTU, ive tried the programs like DRTCP, they dont affect anything.... its not my router as i can get higher packets on other pcs in my house that are wireless, and direct connection works fine. If anyone could help id really appreciate it.

you need to contact your isp, they control your mtu transmission rate....the minimum mtu rate required by XBL is 1500 or there abouts.

.....that was so not useful in so many ways... it has nothing to do with my ISP and xbox does not need 1500 that is too much >_<

i did say there abouts, but here is alink telling u exactly the minimum requirements

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908882/en-us

ever tried searching the web for answers? people get in **** for not searching halomods for something stupid....

there are 2 reasons why u might be failing, listed on that page in the first 3 lines, under cause

1. mtu transmission needs to be at least 1364
2. sharing a connection with a pc

sorry for trying to help you

Did i in any way sound like i dont have common sense, I know what MTU i need and i know how to set up my xbox i didnt ask either of these things. The common response fot MTU is to use DrTCP or something of this sort to change it, this does not work for me, I have searched hence why Ive posted on Xbox live twice and once on an xbox support forum..... ur giving answers to questions that werent asked and ur not in any way helping....
