It's pretty much how I perceive string theory. The universe is made of strings, not points and this changes nothing except things that we can't prove with our current technology. To me it just sounds like a thought experiment.Veegie wrote:What's the point of posting that picture?Danke wrote:shadowkhas wrote:String-theory knowledge helps for the previous paragraph. but heat == energy. how could a perpetual machine (presumably made of matter and not energy) perfectly conserve energy when it is energy? i think heat wouldn't count because it's a fundamental force, our perception of energy, instead of something that operates while conserving it.newbymodder wrote:[what do you mean we don't know what its for? we live on earth lol. we don't know why it was created or what its role is other than that its there but we do know what holds it together. as for the perpetual motion i was discussing this with my coach and um heat is a good perpetual motion. its caused when matter bounces off matter and that happens constantly and doesn't stop until absolute 0.

I know that once energy is used, it turns into heat and is usually emitted from whatever is using energy. The newly formed heat can't be used for energy (well, at least for anything that is living) and is discarded. Then the energy user needs more energy when it wants to preform a new task.
I don't think something can reuse the same energy consecutivly, but instead recycle energy or continuously produce the same amount of energy its using at the same time it is using it.

get a water wheel. then get a bar with groove that's the same all around.
have a water container with an opening on one side. with a slide going to the water wheel. have a container under the water wheel where the bar with the groove is stickout at a 45 degree angle to the opposite side of the water wheel. have several(about 50) buckets hanging from it. at the top there's anoter container with an opening on the side. have some fancy gear works to connecting the bar to the water wheel and to a generate(to receive the power)keep it in a place with about 31 degree farenhigt with no sunlight at all times. theorectically it should move on forever dispice friction.

So basically, you're saying "screw friction because I say so?" The universe doesn't work like that, buddy.CDK908 wrote:get a water wheel. then get a bar with groove that's the same all around.

the magnets and marble idea: i'm not sure on this although it makes sense, but someone here mentioned how magnets lose strength over time in much the same matter as radioactive materials have a half-life.
laser idea: conversion of energy from electricity to heat due to resistance in the wires would kill this one in no time.
water wheel idea: couldn't quite understand from the post, i guess i need a picture, but issues would be getting used water back up to the top of the machine and, of course, friction in moving parts. and then there's loss of water due to spilling or evaporation.

I wish that logic of acceptance was a standard, almost.Danke wrote:It's pretty much how I perceive string theory. no that's not what i said. i mean the water is reused so dispise friction it can keep going cuz the water keeps it moving as long as the quanity doesn't stop then you get energy with the same energy put in it....
and for the evaporation that's why i said away from sunlight at all times(ie all light total darkness) and at 31 degree so it doesn't freeze or evaporate..

we can get the energy back....god damn..why don't you just say it takes energy to get an idea for making it. then it take energy to make it >.>
