Couldn't we do switchable themes if it really bothers people that much?

Iron_Forge wrote:I rather like this theme...Nice, simple, clean...It probably wouldn't be too difficult to take the current theme, copy it, re-define it's colors, and redo it's images...

Unfortunately, things are alot easier when you only have one base to go from...You don't have to check all new images, to see if they go with all themes, or create different variations on them to suit each theme...It also means from here on out, I'd have to maintain two code bases...This was a real pain to try and do when we had two forums, and I'd rather not have to worry about dual implementation with every (albeit rare) upgrade in the future...And since I'd be the one who would have to do it, I wouldn't hold your breath...

On that note though, I'd suggest you go read up on some color-emotion theory...There's probably a reason we have our current color scheme... ;o)
You should probably try reading the topic before making a reply.

I don't see the need to make another theme. This one's fine.

Skins fine, but perhaps some parts of the forum could be revised. I mean we have a section for each halo game here, yet we have only one 'Tags and Resources' and 'Documents' forum in the 'Other Downloads' section, which encompasses all halo games...Now I don't know if that was meant to be, but it is slightly misleading...Primarily because they are not 'other's..

Also, I noticed at least one Halo2 utility in the 'Utilities' forum in that section also, moderatorzzzzz >_>
Halo 2 Prophet - Skin with ease with the simple 3D point and click interface.
Halo 3 Research Thread - Contribute to the research into Halo 3.

Lawl its better than it USED to be >_> (Sorting)
And I'm torn, I like the current theme, its clean, and easy to read.
But new themes make things look more interesting.

Maybe >_> when halo 3 modding comes round >_> a new theme >_> may >_> be <_< in >_> order <_< eh'? <_>

No.

Interesting takes a back seat to clean, neat, organized, and professional.

Which is why I'm torn >_> Nothing against a NEW clean layout eh'?

This truly is pointless though eh'? since we can all live with the current theme, and the one person who can do it basically already said no.

What purpose would it serve?

Pros:
It looks different.

Cons:
Takes a while to set up.
Requires testing for support with all the mods.
Requires either a double-management thing as IF described, or it requires the removal of this theme, which there is absolutely nothing wrong with.

So... why do it?

One which has been brought up 500 times before. Just because you don't bother to look doesn't mean "nobody has thought of it."

<3, you are 200% right, this forum's skin is the skin its had for ever and the skin it will keep :), it makes the site look professional and not some stuck up halo community

Are you suggesting Pastel and Earth Tones for a Therapeutic Forum layout?
