New Plugins create errors in Entity

Post by NessDan0358 »

Well I had just went over to http://plugins.pheonic.co.uk/ and got the newest available plugins. I update my scnr plugin and now whenever I launch Entity and try to open up the chunk cloner in that tag it gives me an error.
Unable to Cast object of type 'SplitIdent' to type 'String'.
Is there any way to fix this?

Also, if I have to edit the plugin myself, are there any white papers or tutorials that show you the structure of plugins, how they work, etc.

I get that same chunk cloning error myself with the latest plugins. My solution is by no means elegant, but what I do is keep the folder for the old busted plugins next to the folder for the new ones. When I need to clone chunks, I rename the old plugins directory to "Plugins" and temporarily rename the current plugins directory to something else. When I need the new plugins for tag editing, I reverse the procedure.

It's not cool.

But it works, and Entity, hairy warts and all, is still a darned good program, especially for the price.

EDIT: I didn't know it was due strictly to the scnr plugin. I'll try getting the cloner friendly version.

Thanks for the help, I should have searched before asking >_<

You're the creator of that site?!? You pwn out loud!!!

Unfortunately, modding in general isn't going so well for me as plugins keep complicating the problem.

I think I'll just put it off or learn how to make plugins so that I can actually get through a mod, barely alive at least :P
