HERES HOW TO PUT AI IN BG WITHOUT EM BEING IN VEHICLE!
1. Get a map built with another acter viarient in it. I'm not gunna go through all that. Use the search button and look!
2.Open up the map in HHT not HMT.
3. Go to the vehicle setion and select the warthog.
4. In the actv tabs (there are 3) assign the character of your choice. Make sure that you hit the swap button or it won't change and click the save changes button.
5. Open up the map in HMT now.
6. You will need a collision plugin for this part and it will be included in this post.
7. You go to the collision model section and select the warthog.
8. Now on all the numbers in the frame dropdown and the material dropdown set collision to off. Make sure that there are none that dont have either selected.
9. Now go to the physics tab and select the warthog.
10. Set the cneter of weight to 1.5. This will cause the warthog to stand on end and thus, nobody can pilot it.
11. Now you do the same thing for the rest of the vehicles if you want. just set the center of weight to 1.5.
12. you can swap out any shader like an invisible one out with the warthogs and walla! You have AI like when they released BG with hunter, marine, and elite!
I will make a longer version soon that starts from the begining!

shader?
what shader do i swap to make em invisible?
and where is the place to put "1.5" to make em stand on end? physics, but center of weight x, y, or z?
(right now i just have em bouncing around so the guys fall out) but this is better so the (eventually invisi) vehicles dont kill u

this works, but causes lag problems. i make the vehicle respawn by swapping it out for an equipment object. now it spawns about 50 warthogs in the map. lag. and also, it still causes the problem where the energy sword is swapped out for the vehicle weapons. OK HERE IS A QUESTION FOR YA. CAN WE SOMEHOW MAKE THE PLASMA RIFLE ELITE CHASE YOU AS WELL AS SHOOT AT YOU? i can only get him to stand still. so i use plasma sword actv, but then the plasma sword doesnt work, so they chase you and punch you. its weird. omg it was so cool though on timberland, i put the plasma sword elite actv in and i sat in the top of the base and knocked one out of a ghost. it goes "hwa ha uh" and points at me, then runs to the side and up the ramp, comes through the door and kills me. halo has some pretty swwet AI. the only prob is, he completely forgets about you as soon as you get behind a wall and they cant see you. but i think going to the right and up the ramp to get me rather than streight at me qualifies as "smart AI"

ok, swapping the bitmaps of the vehicles skin for cryo glass (levels\a10\bitmaps\cryo glass) works great. however, there is still a part of the tank there! i screwed up and swapped a shader first i think, so the tank hull is now the active camo base or something. anyways, it doesnt have a bitmap under vehicles\tank. also, my mostly-invisible tanks are bouncing around and killing me, so please elaborate on how to make em stand on end with center of grav.
of course this still isnt a solution to how to get AI into the map without vehicles. i guess that we're still gonna have to deal with invisible, upside-down vehicles.

this guy is an idiot
this doesnt solve them being not in vhei's and it also wastes one of ur vehicles!!
an easier way is to make the vehilces respan upadie down, DUH! and u get to keep the vehi then aswel
the only way to add AI without vehi's is to write an AI spawn metafile and add it to the map, and that would make the map un-ppf-able, which would only be ogod if it was an awsome mod

well, it wouldnt be hard, ud just have to copy the meta fikle across, but then th position would be somewhere outta the map, and u cant move the spawns for some reason as they diapper as u select them, but then, ud have to find it in the mapfile first.

but having tons of the same vehicle around is annoying and dumb. plus, when it respawns upside down, or when u flip it it is very dangerous and can kill u or the AIs.an easier way is to make the vehilces respan upadie down, DUH! and u get to keep the vehi then aswel
its better to make the vehi invisible and put in a collision model that u can walk+ shoot thru (does any one know of a collision model that is exactly like nothing is there? eg: small bush works for walking, but vehicles crash into it still

er, why?
uve got a useless vehi, that gets in ur way!
and, if u put bots in the vehi,say warthog, ALL seats, u gte 9 bots for just that type of hog, why not put them in all vehi's? that way ud have 38 bots in ur map!
and i think if ud put bots in ur map, u are MORE concentrated on killin ur bots! and if u havent noticed, when u flip it, it flips AWAY from u, and if up to a wall, maybe RUN AWAY!!
