It's gonna be fun to make bases out of barricades and those huge groups of crates in Infection, if that's even in the final release.

Its funny because when in forge mode, you play as the monitor.

I know you can save maps in Forge so that you can play them later, but does it have to be in Forge Mode for you to access those maps? Or can you start a game of Slayer or King of the Hill without Forge on?

The maps are saved to your hdd just like a normal map. So, yes you can go into a slayer game and play a game on the map you just made.

Factual basis? I have not heard anything of the sort. (Also, there aren't "maps" saved to your hard drive from Forge. It's a collection of data which tells the game what to spawn where.) I have heard nothing stating that Forge variants can be used outside of Forge mode.

Somewhere in one of the Bungie updates it says something of this nature :

"Once you are finished with forge, you can save the map, upload it to your file upload (Where you upload videos, pictures, etc.) and then other's can download and play on the map you made."

Yes, but that says nothing about playing it outside of Forge mode.

Damn. The main reason I was excited for Forge was editing a map and then playing the new Infection gametype for it. I guess at the least we could play the old Zombies.

Still, Forge is gonna be really awesome, can't wait for the release.

Hey, who's to say you can't play it out of Forge? Just because they haven't told us, doesn't mean it's not going to happen. :)

I'm fairly certain Forge uses gametypes just as a typical game would. Even if not, again, nobody is saying you can not play modified maps in a standard game. You're jumping to conclusions.

That has nothing to do with this thread. :|

Yeah, I was just jumping to conlusions. I heard something that remotely sounded like you wouldn't be able to play modified maps in regular games, but then I read through the EGM Article Tural typed up and read this:
Once you're done fiddling with a map in Forge, you can save it and pass it on to your friends through Halo 3's file share to use in normal custom games.
Hopefully that's not a typo and they are correct about that.
