I listened to it about an hour before it was on their site/iTunes/their RSS. Someone linked it in IRC.

Either they succeeded well in polishing the graphics up, or I'm just learning to appreciate them... either way the game looks beautiful now, to me.

I noticed that as well. It looks like they took the "cartoonish" look out of the graphics.

What? "But the back of his head doesn't have the black stripe like all the other CQBs" doesn't make any sense. He isn't wearing CQB, he's wearing EVA. I wouldn't expect it to have the "stripe" from CQB.

While we're talking about permutations, since there really isn't a topic (And doesn't need to be one) dedicated to them, here's this tidbit:
IGN wrote:IGN AU: On to a more specific question. Armour permutations - how much have you revealed at this point? How many pieces are in the game?

Lars Bakken: I can't talk about how many total pieces we have. There are obviously a lot more than we've revealed. We revealed two of them at the last press event - the helmets and the shoulder pads and the chest permutations, but there's a lot more. And there's a bunch that we wouldn't even talk about even if we were talking about them, because there are some hidden ones that we want fans to find.

IGN AU: How do they actually find it? Is it linked to multiplayer or single player?

Lars Bakken: It's linked to the entire game, and the way it's unlocked is through milestones that you hit, with achievements. It's linked to a point total basically, in your achievements.

IGN AU: Through single player and multiplayer.

Lars Bakken: Yep, for both, it's combined.
Armor permutations are unlocked based on your total gamerscore earned from Halo 3. However, that's not to say every permutation is unlocked that way. I'm betting there's some unlocked in specific ways as well, not just "You have all the achievements, so you have all the permutations."

I don't see a new emblem. I see a different background. They talked about it in one of the podcasts, mentioning how you could use a background on your emblem (One of them was a cowboy hat that fit on many of the heads of emblems [Kitten with a cowboy hat]).

That seems to be a rather large Bubble Shield.

Also, the Hunters in this picture are WAY too shiny.
