Safe to download the Halo 2 Update on Extra maps disc?

Post by Kewlkyle64 »

Hi everybody. I've downloaded the extra maps (Terminal, Turf, all of those ones) except Tombstone and Derelict, because I don't want to go on Live with a mod chip in. So is it safe to download the "Halo 2 Update" On the disc of the extra maps? I'm really paranoid, and I just almost bricked my Xbox, and don't want anything to happen. So will I still be able to mod if I download it?

No. Don't. If you are talking about the "Multiplayer Mappack" disc, then DO NOT DO THE UPDATE.

It updates your dash, and last time it gave me error 13.

Also, contact me on aim ... I have something for you.

Unless you're using an ancient softmod, updating shouldn't be a problem at all.

And the update will not screw up your halo 2 mod disk. It's fine if the new maps are both on the disk and in the DLC folder - they'll just appear twice on the map list.

So it'll be alright if I update then? It'll just appear twice on the list?

if u have an older softmod. then dont do it. but a ndure softmod will work great. it will replace youre old MSDASH but not mess with mods for NDure has Shadow C.

o and this topic should be locked or moved it really doesnt have ne thing to do with Halo 2 modding

I have an old one. So, just let us know which one you used to softmod your xbox. I softmodded mine back in like '05 so I have an old installer.

if you have a hard mod you should be ok but if you have a soft mod it might mess up your xbox no errors or anything just restore it bac to M$ style but its not that hard to return to normal after

do the update then you have clean unmodded system linkable maps.
and you can add these maps to the maps folder and mod the first set, giving you two sets of the same maps your adding, modded and clean.
