Re: Death of the Mastercheif?
It can't be that it's the end of the story arc, and it's OUR world by playing Halo 3 and buying it a lot.antszy101 wrote:However, there is a statement written over a rather nice peice of artwork with the cheif on it saying "A hero need not speak. When he is gone, the world will speak for him."
Is this a hint that the cheif meets his end in Halo 3?
Is there any other evidence for it that you've found?
Do you think he should die?

Frankie himself has said what I have.

There are no spoilers in the ad. The ad agency does not even know what happens at the end of the game. They are just using "flavor."
Nice find spartanx
Disregarding this ad, I think that there is a good chance that the cheif will die in the game. In an archetypal hero story, the hero must make a sacrifice for the greater good, many times that sacrifice is his life. So far, Halo has followed that archetypal journey with the cheif. Also, in the past 2 halo games, that sacrifice has been made, but not with the cheif. In Halo 1, the marines (or most of them) on Halo were killed to prevent the Flood from spreading. In Halo 2, Cortana was left on High Charity so as to destroy the Halo. So even if the MC doesn't die, there is a high probability that someone important will die in Halo 3.

Um, what this says to me that the cheif may not die, but after everything is done people will speak of his heroic actions, but that sounds lame to me though. But, I wouldn't be suprised if he did die.antszy101 wrote:"A hero need not speak. When he is gone, the world will speak for him."
