basicly theyl stay with who ever has a less chancwe of trying to kill them.
would you really want to disobey a order from a brute thats much taller and stronger than you?

the average grunt is torn between a heart tearing choice:
stay with the elites and be used as cannon fodder.

or

stay with the brutes and be used for lunch.

its a hard nut life for a grunt.

lol but i prefer use as a cannon fodder than being lunch for brutes. and yes i would like to see a quote of it too.

I'd rather be with the Elites. I trust that the Brutes will kill me faster if they hit me, and there is a chance they could miss. If I went with the Brutes, they'd eat me slowly. Either way, Brutes are going to kill you.

Pretty sure it was in a video somewhere. Might have been Et Tu Brute, but it seems a lot more recent than that in my memory. I'll look around, but rest assured, I'm positive it was stated at some point.

SPI (sp?) Armour is at the top right. Compare them. They are not the same.

Um. You do not know what you're talking about. The top right is NOT the SPI-looking armor. The left-side-behind one is. Spartan IIIs wear SPI armor.
Anyways, the unknown armor has been pointed out before.
