im asking if i need to find a shader that has as many dependencies of shaders as the original, so yes, im asking you if i need that

Nope, it won't need the same number as the original. Try to experiment with a few swaps. Almost any basic shader will work.

so which shader of the old one should i switch from the new one? the one with the original carbine skin?

You'll need to swap whichever shader is giving you problems. If it's the 3rd person shader giving you troubles, swap that one (I recommend giving both 1st and 3rd person carbines the same, duplicated shader so they look the same). Experiment. Have you actually tried a shader swap with this yet, or are you just asking questions because you have doubts? I would like an answer for that, by the way...

alright, but ill have to try it out tomorrow, im about to have to go to bed, and in the morning im not allowed to mod until i mow the lawn, so it'll have to be l8ter

well, i was babysitting, my friend kept wanting to play, my mom forced me to do chores, i hardly had time to mod

No >_> you don't Just swap ONE damn shader for Another shader in the model of the carbine. Edit the new Shader with some new bitmaps, see if you like it, if no try another shader. I model is made up of 'parts" each one having its own shader. K thx Bai >_>

This is not ALWAYS the case, but it is often so. I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying, I'm adding to it.

It all comes down to the fact that he'll never get this right without trying. I learned what I know with shaders from trial and error. If he's not going to listen to what I've learned, he has no option other than to find out for himself.

kok, ive found out that the shader that is so shiny is the shiny shader :lol: .the problem is that the shader is strange. it has just a stem dependency in dothalo, and entity shows all these dependencies, and its pretty wierd, i don't know what to do now, since its obviously not going to be changed by a bitmap. what now, chad?


EDIT: OMGOSH I FOUND IT IT WAS A STEM TAG, IN THE SHADERS!! I CHANGED IT TO shaders\shader_templates\opaque\tex_bump YAAAAAAAAAAY
