HDTV on XBOX 1

Post by DrXThirst »

I remember checking the forums the other day and someone asked if it was possible. I told them I would have to find mine and see if it worked. So, I found it and I hooked it up to my 52" Widescreen HDTV. Also, I set my settings on my xbox (using the modded dashboard) to
  • Enable HDTV = Yes
    Enable 1080i = Yes
And it worked perfectly on my TV. Below is a picture for proof. Click on the thumbnail for a full size picture.

Moved.
I also don't see a point in this, considering the games would just scale up, not actually run at a HD resolution.

There were maybe 30 or so games that were released with native 720p support.

1080i support is pointless with most all games released these days. They just are too fast paced.

That's for the xbox360 which has hdtv capabilities from the get go. The original xbox did not really have too much support. Which is what we are discussing........
Well its pretty kool, but one could just get a 360 and upscale it through that. Get with the times ;)
I mean kool.....hehe

720 should really be the limit for modern gaming consoles. 1080 is a bit ridiculous considering the majority will be playing on around a 42", you would hardly, if at all, notice a difference. You need a HUGE ass TV to notice 720->1080. You do see a performance difference. 720 is much easier for the console to handle than 1080.

Well, I have a 52" Widescreen HDTV. Running Halo 2 on my 360 at 1080i is beautiful.
