I believe custom BSPs are fine, but converting the official maps that are H2V exclusive to H2X is not allowed.

I remember a similar discussion about this before, and I suggested something slightly different than Scotty. Would a patch for the actual H2V map to be converted to H2X still be allowed? This is all in theory, as I don't have any idea if such a patch is possible to make, but if such a patch could be created, I would see no reason as to why it wouldn't be allowed; I also recall you responding with something like "that could work." But then again, as you said earlier, you're not the entire staff. Perhaps this issue specifically should be discussed further with the higher-ups in staff.

For those who want H2V on XP, download the program and use it. Is it so hard? Sorry you can't talk about it... Even though, there's really nothing to talk about, anyways.
For those against it, they made a rule against discussion of the emulator, be happy and stop bitching.

This whole argument is totally ridiculous and pointless. Yet the answer is so simple. Follow the rules and stop talking about it. No one's stopping you from downloading the program that allows you to play on XP. Those who have Vista and a computer who can run Halo 2 Vista, stop looking down on those who only have XP, yet want to play H2V. Just because they don't have Vista doesn't mean they should play it when they have the chance... Get over yourself and your "Vista superiority".

We have to draw some black and white line where we say what is and isn't allowed. Ripping is still ripping if it's in a patch file.

ya should just host the files to have h2v work on xp somewhere off site so people with xp can just go buy the game and use it instead of going crazy lookin for it and make a tutorial on how to use it and everything will be done with this topic so make it easier and make a little section on the vista forums for xp that would help alot for other people ok and if ya think my idea is bad tell me cuz i think itll be easier

Why? Its already hosted in plenty of places, and as Tural said, the admins here don't allow it. Its not allowed here, end of story.

It's easier to just avoid H2V on XP discussions all together. There are plenty of other places for that, HaloMods is not the appropriate place to ask for it or ask for help, as has been explained multiple times.

well i havent been on halomods for a while but i jus saw dis topic and was seeing the whole problem but if thats how it is i guess i can get the files but its kinda gay to not allow this on halomods cuz its not really a warez or crabk but a file to let u use it on xp but thats it im done lol
