Questions about level reconstruction

Post by BDawgPHD »

To be honest, I don't know where to start. I want to add new "pieces" to a level, walls and ground, complete with collisions and skins. I'll probably also want to steal things from other levels and add them into the map.

For adding original things, I have absolutely no idea where to start, so if someone could give me a rough brief description of what I need to do, I can search for tutorials to teach me how to do those steps.

For stealing things from other level, I followed someone's tut for adding the zanzibar wheel to other levels. I got to the point where I built it into the map and added the meta to the map. From there, I know I have to do something with netgame equipment or whatever, but I don't know exactly what to do, and I don't know how to physically add the zanzibar wheel to the actual map so that I can move it where I want it.

If someone could help me I would be most appreciative :)

Are you saying you want to inject a custom BSP?

I don't know...let's say I'm modding lockout (I am) and that I want to add a huge platform in the empty corner of BR tower and the gravlift (I might). How would I go about doing something like that?

EDIT: Long story short, I figured out moving objects from map to map...I'm still wondering how to add fresh objects to a map. Is it possible? I think that it must be.

Well you can add large MACHs, but thats as close as you are gonna be.
Your sig can't exceed 75kb in file size.

This isn't exactly adding fresh "things" to a map but after you put things in your map from other maps...you can clone chunks to add extra to the map...if that's what you kind of mean.
