"Quick Question (hopefully)

Hey guys,
I want to make some (non-cheating) modifications to some of the h2 maps from the genuine Microsoft map packs (turf, tombstone, etc) but I still want to be able to keep the original maps on my xbox to use in system link.
What I want to know is is there a way I can modify my halo xbe so that it looks for the addon maps in a different folder? Thanks.

im guessing that you are modding the maps in the TDATA folder. just put halo 2 on your xbox's "game" folder. if its not there make it in E/games.

this way when you load the halo 2 game off your harddrive it looks for the maps in the "maps" folder, not the TDATA folder. so you can play xbox live and system link without mods (thats if you put the disk in.)

That's what I've done. Halo is in E:\games\halo 2\ and it still loads all the addon maps from the tdata folder.

u have to edit the main menu to support the new maps, then delte ur 4d530064 folder and load a unmodded map, then try ur newly added maps

dont delet your 4d530064 folder. if you still want to play original maps keep it. so when you pop in your disk it loads all clean maps.

BRILLIANT! Thanks Th2mods. That's exactly what I wanted. You have no idea how long I've spent trying to get this to work.

4d530064 is just where ur maps are, if u leave that, ur xbox could still be trying to boot the update, and the extra maps from that same place, id advise to delete it and boot halo 2 and a clean map to have it back to normal, well after you add the maps to the mm of course

what he wants is to mod halo 2 and play original maps at the same time. i do this exact method, works for me. Dont delet that folder, you dont need to.

see my mainmenu is different then others.... I have 2 sets of the new maps on their, 1 set loads from my "games" folder. the other set loads from my "4d530064" folder. i love it.

you could always just name turf headlong etc.
