All I can say is at least you had some foresight in the last half of your first sentence.

You give no reasons for WHY you should run it. You only post that because your popular and you know that there could be a chance it would happen. In which case I would not enter/use MoTM, lol. I'm a ScottyGEE fan!

As for the server thing, well thats good news that many people can host MOTM mods, sorry for no replies and stuff, I gotta think things over, and focus on other things too. So just because I'm not saying who does what now, doesn't mean I won't come begging later

why say its not a consideration? Your running of the haloween competition coupled with how your the go to guy for when Im thinking about the skinning competition makes you a very good candidate. You also know how to spell and as far as I know, you're a respected person who doesn't have an inflated head.

Its not as if this competition needs me specifically as its not up to my opinion as to which mod gets chosen or not. I'd be employing the "users vote for what they want" style...Because if it were solely up to the host (be it me, chad or otherwise), whose to say that their opinion is better than others?

And jackson, as pointed out earlier, Chad does have experience and I do know and trust him well (liek the biggest halomods friend on the site, regardless of age

[It just sucks with me not having free time recently, sorry]).

Anyway, MoTM is still far off-ish, so there's plenty of time to think things over, and I'm wanting to focus on skins section again after my exams. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this won't happen or that I'm putting this off or something, I'm saying leave your mind open, who knows? I may appoint Chad a MoTM guy, or I may ask Kirk (:? hehe) or something

haha wow chad i think you got him with that paragraph haha but honestly JacksonCougAr why did you get mad at theycallmechad? he didn't do anything and please Chad don't leave the fourms there are people here like ScottyGEE and others who look to you for help in running things in the community and hmm how to say this i guess really amature modders like me who seek you guys out when im having trouble because i know that youve been there and know how to handel the situation but any who.

i support what you doing ScottyGEE i would like the MotM to come back and acutally be somthing not just a waste of time and effort when people argue and flame what mod became the MotM its okay to argue about it but it needs to be done oustide the community via aim, msn, pm or somthing of that nature. If i wasn't such an amature modder i would be glad to help in this but im afraid that my input would be very well amature haha since i have not been able to mod for about a year now

This conversation is about "MOTM" this might be the kind of reasons we shouldn't have one, and Chad is right you have no reason for saying he shouldn't and saying your a Scotty fan still should give you right to say it in that manner, perhaps look back and look at what you said Jackson?

But I see alot of people willing to host maybe you should let one of them do it? and then do something else for the actual winners?

I blame it on my fingers... they seem to have a negative tone when translated to text.

Listen: this is not the first time, or even the second time my intentions have been mis-interpreted. I am wholly at fault because for 1) I am a slightly negetive person, 2) I do not normally deal with people who are so easily insulted, and 3) I never use enough emoticons! lol.

Let me try to clarify (if I can considering how I tend to post whatever floats into my mind).

The whole thing with Outstanding is rather a sad joke with me. Things in outstanding are probably rather good mods and such, but the ARE a popularity contest in the end. There is no set of rules or regulation the determine whether a mod gets place there or not. Indeed there does not at first seem to be anything other then the general opinion of users and staff that gets mods placed in there; thus: popularity contest.

Now to continue;

I have nothing against you. I actually sort of admire you but I have in my mind made you into my "nemesis" of sorts when it comes to skinning. I am entirely trying to skin as well or better than you. This in the end may have unintentionally made me seem rather... rude? in my post.

As for you being popular; when it comes to skinning I do believe you are quite popular, so me being a skinner by nature myself, may have be slightly jealous of your skinning.

I did take some offence at your post though. Just that you were using your influences... Like if I had gone into some random project recruitment thread and said, "Here, just let me take this over!" I think there would be some very annoyed/angered people. I felt as if you were trying to take control away from ScottyGEE (I know you were asking but... its just me okay?).

Now that I understand that you are a fairly close acquaintance/friend of ScottyGEE's then I can chill out a bit more.

[on topic] What's stopping MOTM from coming back? I know Scotty said he has troubles right now doing it because he's preoccupied with other stuff, so why not have Chad head it for now.

Or ... since we "know" it's coming back... people could start on their mods now anyways.. or atleast submit them.

If someone wants to have me host their mod, just upload the patch to yousendit or something similar and PM me the link. I'll then upload it to my server (until I get something better setup where you guys can upload directly to it.... which I'm currently working on....)

Gladly; I did think of one other thing. Since no mod is created equal, and we don't all have the same amount of time to devote to a mod then I think we should have "classes".

There should be a "Creationist" class

This class would have everything, skins, mods, new things, new effect, just anything and everything that can go into a map.

Then a "Re-creationist" class.

This class would keep true to halo 2 gameplay but try to create a new level--aka wake island.

Then a "Developer" class.

This class would post small mods like a fully working trip-mine or new teleporting guns.

Each class would/should have a 1/2/3 tier system.
Each class should get prizes: aka:

1st: Avatar & Sig & Emblem (MoTM [Creationist/Re-creationist/Developer] #1) & Halmods hosting (for 10mb+ of course)

2nd: Sig or Avatar & Emblem (MoTM #2 [Creationist/Re-creationist/Developer])

3rd: Emblem (MoTM #3 [Creationist/Re-creationist/Developer])

Jackson you need to make more educated comments dont be so half witted. From team mate to team mate watch what you say every time you say it. MOTM isn't a popularity contest. Its for the mod with the most creative, newest, funnest, best look and feel, hardest. So next time think of it this way its not best aqt show its best of show. Pretty much all of the Halo mods community can agree with that. As for what should run the MOTM i say the community make a topic post the list the best mods on a poll and links to them and see what we all have to say not one guy. Jackson what you said about People dont always have time. People dont alway have the computer power lol.

Ok people, we slightly misinterpreted others words (although I was not angry or anything, it was just an unexpected post). Sorry and all that.

Mod of the Month will remain as MOD of the month...It will not be mods of the month sorry. It would be very hard to judge things individually with everyone and honestly, its all about what the people think is the best mod. If a 5 minute mod wins over a fully redone mod, then its apparent that the people like those kinds of mods. So no, seperate catagories are out =(

So keep the Mod of the Month discussion coming

Don't be upset if your thoughts are rejected, I just want things to be even...Chad and I will probably do a rules write up soonish so people can go over it and see if it is fair enough or not...And once kirk gets back, I'll organise the halomods hosting, else we'll use one of the external hosts and away we goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I'd say theres nothing stopping a user from entering a skin in there...But I say whats the point? I also run a dedicated skinning competition (might try make try to make it more frequent. Also, It should be on tomorrow if not on friday). The skinning competition is more about presentation, whereas MoTM is about making a kickass mod that everone loves

GIR, when I get it setup...Most likley itll be for July but there could be one on the end of June...Its hard to tell right now until Im on holidays and things get organised
