sam that pose seems a bit weird to me does anyone else feel that it's a bit odd?

A wee bit off topic, a bit I guess but, at first I thought Maya was restricted to Mac only but its not. And today On Bungie they were making some cinematic using Maya, so my question is do we get more benefits using 3ds max? Or would it be a smarter move to use Maya?

No.
Plus it carries a higher price tag.

OMGOSH Bungie sometimes uses maya that means if I use maya i can make halo 4!!!

Bungie actually uses it pretty much for animations only. I've used it we have it at my school. While animating is a bit more interactive, and has a bit more functionality than 3ds max, it isn't a big enough difference that it's worth buying a $8000 program.(for the average consumer)

Umm..where did I say I can make Halo 4 with Maya. I know games are not just graphics it includes a lot of programming. After that marketing and such. I am not an idiot.

Hey, bud you are not me. I actually didn't even thinking of making Halo 4. I was think that we could make better renders if we used the the same software as them. But as you and people said we won't. Just stop here. Next time try not to stick words down people's mouth.

Try this. Download the demo, and make a render. Then, post it. I bet it won't be any better than if you did it in max.

Not too many people work on elites, so I decided to work on the materials. I got all the normal maps to be 512x, except the helmet, it is still 256x. I also made new detail bumps. Thanks Tural and Veegie for helping me figure these out. The picture has the model with no bumps, the standard higher resolution bumps, the normals and detail bumps, then a close on the tummy where the detail maps take a large effect, and then a colored image of that.
