Are you looking to set up your FTP to your Xbox?
I've never had to turn off my Firewall or Anti Virus. It could be the program itself. Honestly, I gotta say that using Internet Explorer is the best way to go.

I can tell you how to do this with IE.

1. Open IE.

2. type in the address bar ftp://username:password@192.168.x.x (The X's are the last two numbers in your I.P. for the Xbox.)

3. Press enter as if you were going to a website, and give it a few seconds. Make sure that the system is on and at the Dashboard.

IE FTP and FireFox FTP are better than any FTP program. Smart FTP just kept taking me back through menus I didn't want to go through, and I never liked Flash FXP. You can create an FTP to pretty much anywhere as long as you set it up correctly.
