Ok so heres the deal, i extracted the model for the assault rifle from hmt. Then i get a .obj file, but when i import it in Milkshape or Rhino (wich has support for obj files) nothing is there. What should i do?
I have the .net framework installed...
Importing .obj...
Hey! Zetard,
I think from what I've read in these forums that when people have opened Halo .obj files(other than map.obj export) in milk shape or other programs they need to drastically resize the file because it imports to scale and when this is done it shows up as almost nothing at first(very tiny).
So select all and either ZOOM in close or resize and see if maybe that is the problem.
good luck

I really have never used Milkshape or Rhino so I really can't help you there. (using Softimage XSI HL2 EXP) I exported using HMT3.5 lastnight and had no problem editing the files. before that I could not even export models using 3.0 for some reason I got error everytime i tried.
The XSI EXP is free with limitations I think it is a great program, even though I am still just a novice . I recommend it to everyone, make sure you register on softimages forums. they have alot of tuts and shaders free for dl, also needed to activate exporter. their are a few issues with resolution because XSI only works with high res monitor display settings.
But if you end up using it search these forums for my post (softimage and obj I think was the thread title)about how to fix this issue. sorry could'nt help you very much.

I got really pissed because of this and fomatted my drive and installed a new op.system. Previously I had Finnish Windows XP Professional and now I change it back to English Windows 2000 Professional. HMT model exporting still doesn't work, even after changing system and upgrading to HMT 3.5
I have .net framework v1.1, Creative Geforce 5600 ultra, Asus A7V8X mob, Audigy Platinum 2
I think this might be a hardware problem or something... Which version of Framework do you guys have whose model export is working?
PS. I've tried the export succesfully on other machines, so I know how to do it.
