Most people give a bit of leeway for that, since they're still using essentially 20th century tech with a little early 21st thrown in as far as small arms go. It's the (lack of) quality of the model and Strider's ever-present "I didn't have good refs, I only spent 2 minutes on it, I actually wasn't trying, you have a huge ego" attitude that bugs me.
We've told him enough times he'll never improve with that attitude, but no, clearly he knows best.

The day you Model properly is the day I become a good christian, Strider.

I was just reading the topics posted by strider on Filefront Forums, "OMG Wow thats great!" "Just what we'd expect from you strider " "Can I help with the project?"
The only decent person I see on there is Blaze, he was smart enough to pull out of the Amazingly L337 Vertigo City Project.
"Can't WAIT till its done!"

wow, ive never seen so much flaming in my life, seriously we all start somewhere, he can only get better, right. you need to start somewhere too, I doubt you moddeled amazingly on your first try, just a bit a support goes a long way. Plus most of the moddelers that took the jillys (p155) out of it are sad men who dont really have much of a life. Owel.
Strider take the comments on board and you will more than definattly get better, also everyone calm down. I also appologise for what I just said up higher. But modding is meant to be fun, not a competition, stupid isnt it????

If you miss your Aperture Science weighted Companion Cube, put this in your signature.
well, you see, people have tried to help him before on numerous occassions, every time, he has been a complete dick to everyone. he's had the support, he's had the offers, he's had the tips and tricks, but he doesn't take them. it is within SERIOUS doubt he'll advance. he's been at this level for the past few years.ZeroKillerMods wrote:wow, ive never seen so much flaming in my life, seriously we all start somewhere, he can only get better, right. you need to start somewhere too, I doubt you moddeled amazingly on your first try, just a bit a support goes a long way. i don't know who the "you need to start somewhere, too etc" comment was directed towards, but i guarentee you, my affiliates and myself underwent the same standard of evaluation as he's gotten before. the only difference is we took the advice and help, etc, and he did not. we have far outpaced him in 3d modeling. just a few examples are in my sig and avatar.
Dude. No. Do you even know who Katarn and Snaf are? They are some of the few 1337est modelers that have ever set foot in CE. =D
this isnt his first not model and i doubt its his last everyone just wants him to get better.

I've been modelling for about a year and a quarter. He's been modelling for some 3 years now. Compare my work to strider's, and you'll see why were nagging him.ZeroKillerMods wrote:wow, ive never seen so much flaming in my life, seriously we all start somewhere, he can only get better, right. you need to start somewhere too, I doubt you moddeled amazingly on your first try, just a bit a support goes a long way. He's been modding longer than most people have been in the community.ZeroKillerMods wrote:...seriously we all start somewhere, he can only get better, right. you need to start somewhere too, I doubt you moddeled amazingly on your first try, just a bit a support goes a long way.

...but...a Beretta Tomcat? That looks like the kind of gun pilots used in WWI to blow their brains out in the case of a crash landing.rossmum wrote:Most people give a bit of leeway for that, since they're still using essentially 20th century tech with a little early 21st thrown in as far as small arms go.
At least stock Halo weapons look like they're inspired by relatively advanced technology, even if by modern standards.
