Sparkedit Help

Post by FanTasY »

Well I did my first SP->MP rebuild but what I what to know is how to get the spawn points into the new BSP. I found the old BSP area that had all the spawn points, weapons and all that, but i had to go eat and I can't find the location again. The new BSP's camera lock is about -500 or so and I want to know if I can use the coordinates and all to find the spawn points. Even when I do, can I just put one spawn point, delete all the other old one's and then just duplicate the moved one?

well spark edit doesnt allow you to delete spawn points. but what i do is i find all the spawn points, hold ctrl, and i select all of the spawn points and move them into the new bsp. i do this with all the weapons and stuff. hope this helps.

It's good now, thanks anyways Andrew, oh and if other people read this heres a tip when doing SP->MP which i figured out. Don't bother looking around through all the gray in Spark Edit, go to Tools>Options> and then at the bottom change overall draw distance to 10000, and voila just look at the sides, or underneath your new BSP and then you should see the flags in the middle of nowhere. Many people probably do this already, and maybe I'm just a noob who just discovered it :P.

Really sorry for the double post, didn't want to make a new topic. Also I'm sorry for such newbish questions :P. Well I did my SP->MP conversion, i PMI'ed a lot of scenery and whatnot, i've imported all the tags into the scenario on sparkedit, but when i swap out other scenery for it, instead, all i get is little cubes, and when i look through my whole list and I can't find the new models, and yes i have already switched mach tags to scenery. When i look at the models list , they're all perfectly fine but then it's a different story with swapping, can someone help?

yeah those squares are sparkedits way of saying "You just pmied something and i dont recognize it so therefore i cant put a model on it". just make sure the four lines going out of the box is above the ground for the item to show up.

Well I'm guessing I'd have to go in-game and check over and over? Oh and the models are perfect in the models list yet they're still squares while on the BSP. Also when i've seen these models they aren't cubes or squares on other people's maps, but instead are the full model for them, does anyone know a way I can fix this? Oh yeah and it would be hard because when you open up rebuilt maps in spark edit for some reason all the file names are mixed up.

yeah i dont know how to fix the model problem but the models show up perfectly in the game. just make sure the 4 lines the come out horizontaly from the cubes are above the bsp. if they are below it, the item wont show up
