Ah, I'm still wondering why they didn't shut down the class once the shooting at the dorm happened. I mean there was a 2 hour period in which no one on campus even knew about a shooting. Just enough time to get to class and for that sicko to put chains on the doors so people couldn't leave. (hence the jumping from windows)

Man, I hate this kinda crap. My second cousine was right infront of the dorm where the shootout began. I feal really bad about this, I remeber seeing a columbine dramatization that was really heavy, and it left me shocked.

That sounds utterly horrible.
It cannot be described in words how horrid, annoying and frustrating that is for some person to decide they are going to take such a power in their hands and kill numerous people. And the person wasn't even a student.

I also love the place's handling of the first shootings...By not telling anyone of anything...Sure they would have thought that after two dead, there wouldn't be more, but hell not telling anyone but police is crazy. Keeping any information like that away from others just doesn't sound right...At least they could have said, go home, somethings had happened whilst avoiding saying that people had been shot. Or just telling people had been shot would have been enough. But no, people were blissfully unaware and now a whole lot of people are dead for it...
I'm not blaming the handling of the handling on the entire situation, but it was definatley a factor in preventing many more deaths and injuries.

dont dispise the word just the avalbility of getting guns in america.
It's not a matter of availability, it's a matter of self control. I have 2 AK-47's, a 12 gauge shotgun, 2 pistols, and 2 hunting rifles in my house, all to which I have complete access to. But you don't see me going on killing sprees.

It's the people in this world that make me sick, I'm not at all against people being able to freely buy a gun, because if we made that against the law, people could get them through underground trading or whatever (an example of this would be a person who could not legally get a gun, so he buys it off a guy on the street).
Look, I don't give a shit what kind of crap this guy went through as a kid or adult, he didn't have to make anyone else suffer with him. Yes, I can sympathize to someone who has had a bad past or are having bad times currently, and I'd be more than willing to go through hell to get someone out of hell as I have done with a couple friends. But once they go out and kill someone because of their personal problems is where I loose all sympathy and hope for them.

a lot of them jumped out of the windows. and its easy to say, just duck. but in that situation, its really hard to guess what you would actually do. im sure i would probably do what the guy with the gun says too.

What most Americans don't understand is, that if guns were illegal, the chances of this happening are a lot smaller. You say, well he'd just go buy a gun illegally... well in Countries where firearms are illegal, it's not that easy. Try and buy a real gun in a European Country... it won't happen. And if it does, it'll be very expensive... because you'd be paying for it to be smuggled into the country.

It angers me, you don't need guns... you just want them. People say they need them for defence against illegal gun owners, well the fact of the matter is... if they weren't readily available in your country, the wrong people probably wouldn't get them...

Fact is, something like this wouldn't have happened in a country with strict gun laws. Bill of shit more like.

Yarly...
Also, on the topic of them being used for protection, well, are there many stories publicised about when someone fended off gun toting individual(s) by whipping out their 12-guage or any other weapon? I'm sure there are some, but how does it compare with stories of gang shootings or massacres such as this one?

Hmm this reminds me of an older thread :P (The talk of no guns etc)

Thing is, you have to keep in mind when the Bill of Rights was written. People had a COMPLETELY different mentality and didn't think like we do now.

Guns or no guns, people who want to kill will still find ways to kill. I'm sure the terrorist bombings in the UK and Spain did not involve firearms, yet hundreds of people died. It really has nothing to do with the availability of guns. Had he had not had firearms but only a desire to kill, he would have figured something out. I think what really needs done is for the United States to ban household items that could be used in bomb making along with guns. In fact, ban people-to-people contact altogether. This world can survive through computer-only communication, right? Oh wait, how will people have kids then? Crap.

Stop blaming the guns! Blame the 23 year old Korean psychopath who killed 32 people! HE did it, end of story. There is nothing else to blame. To blame the guns would be like me blaming Boeing for creating the jets that took town the trade center towers in NYC (or blaming the towers themselves). The tool is not the criminal, period!

Please let this be the end of the gun debate! It makes me sick that this tragedy has turned into an argument about whose political views on guns is right or wrong. Way to use a tragedy like this to prove a point.

God bless the victims and their families.

That's one of the most Anti-American things I've ever heard. Why are people so Media-driven now that they always point the finger where the media points it: America? America DID NOT bring this upon its self! It was ONE bad man who did a very bad thing! That's all! Sorry to bring this upon you all, but THERE ARE BAD PEOPLE IN THE WORLD! GASP!

They're trying to blame shotting video games on this. I heard it on the radio. They try to blame every school shooting on video games.

The kid was a foreign exchange student from South (?) Korea, if anything, blame them and their highly stressful lifestyles.
