New xbox hard drive over 137 gigs

Post by woofer999 »

I just got a Western Digital EIDE hard drive (160 gigabytes) And i formatted it and everything. But i recently found out that i would only get 137 gigs out of the 160, i don't know why. So i looked around for tuts on how to get my extra 23 gigs, and the only tuts i found were for hardmodded xbox's. Is it possible to get my extra 23 gigs with a softmodded xbox? if so, where is a tut? can i reformat my new hard drive again when i find out how to enable the extra memory? thanks for help

I haven't touched my xbox in a while, but your every gig over 137 goes to your "G" drive. Xbox's have E drives...standard. Larger hard drive upgrades to 137 for F. Anything above, goes with G. I have mine with a chip. I don't mess around with softmods although I have softmodded at least ten xbox's, but they didn't have a larger hard drive. www.xbox-scene.com will have you answer quicker than a game hacking site however. But it is something like editing a evox.ini file or something >_>. Check xbox-scene.

Spilling your extra space into a G drive is a BIOS feature. Not all Xbox's will do this.

We mod the game, not the machine. Please head to Xbox-Scene for more in-depth help.
Good luck though, softmods are (usually) a pain in the behind.
