I doubt any of the punishment will go through, it was probably just a threat.

And everyone stop talking about Courts... he said he wasn't serious about taking legal action, and rightly so.

Keep us posted as to the outcome.

tread carefully and think it out. court action is a bad idea, but media attention sounds good. if you're in the south, or any conservative area, it'll be even better, because although it isn't illegal, it's immoral.
the picture wasn't serious, and it's an opinion, really ("making the wrong decisions the right way"), so i don't see any reason he should be punished.

i say first, try and talk to your administrators and either get the punishment removed or lessened, and if that's unsuccessfull, spread it all around school, and get word to the parents (angry parents calling the school gets annoying fast). if that doesn't work, threaten media attention (they don't want attention brought to them of any sort of sexual issue). and if that doesn't work, spread it around every single way you can. once the school gets enough bad publicity, they'll cave.

if you have to use that last method, tell us here, and we'll be able to spread it fast. i'll post it up on digg and some other sites. maybe getting people to call the school on this subject will put enough pressure on them to make them change.

Yea one time a somebody at our school waved a rubber chicken at the principal and got a 5 day suspension...No sense of humor...
Look out! That chicken has a gun! Sorry. Serious time.

I think that is very stupid. Five days ISS? I would go for the media attention if I were you.

Media action would be best methinks.
The constitution says all "'men' are 'created' equally" through civil rights arguments this has been stretched to mean women and men of all races, yet it seems that everyone forgets the created part. I think that teenagers and children deserve equal rights because IMO 'created' could mean born.

it also says "'we' 'have' the right to bear 'arms'"

since we have arms and we have the right to bear them this is no longer a legal matter. in other words stop copy and pasting stuff from the constitution or the bill of rights. this will only go as far as the school board no further. saying things to the degree of "media attention will aid your struggle" does not solve the "dilemma" here in this thread

Yes I did.

Also, did he get fired or did he resign...cause that could affect my opinion about your school.

spelled*

Anyways, I dont think that your friend shold recieve any punishment for this graphic. I mean, this whole controversy is technically legal in the first place, and your freind is in trouble for a 5 minute photoshop job? I say forget about the thing. (The graphic that is...)

He was going to be fired on some day, but they gave him the option to resign beforehand, which he did.

ive seen somthing like this happen when i was at school years ago...
best bet is get media attention and tell the authority of the school you are seeking legal advice on the grounds of breach of human right of freedom of speach.
and if they say it is their property imporm them that it is the creators intellectural property and is copyrighted under that.
