They said nothing about modified Xboxes or map files. I won.

My school has a loop hole...
It blocks HALOMODS, but not the Forums

"You know what I'd like to be? I mean if I had my goddamn choice, I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all."
or should I?
yeah, because their filter blocks www.halomods.com, but not forums.halomods.com. speaking of which, here's what me and my friend have learned about google image blocks and getting around them by simply messing with the url:
they block images.google.com, right? but you can still use google, so that's where they fail.
this url will be thrown out because it starts with images.google.com: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q ... ages&gbv=2
but this one will be fine, since it's www.google.com: http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&q=in ... ages&gbv=2
exact same search results, different servers. the same thing works with froogle. they recently blocked the www bypass, but if you substitute www with froogle, it's again a different server, and should be let through.
http://froogle.google.com/images?hl=en& ... ages&gbv=2
and when that fails, you could always use a translator like babelfish.altavista.com, give it the page, and have it translate from chinese to english.

ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

My School is Ridiculous when it comes to their filters
They have a string set up to block anything that says "myspace.com"
But I can freely check my Mail on Gmail. Yahoo, or anything else I can think of
Well I have Firefox installed in my Student Folder, although it was initally blocked, I figured out how to log into the student proxy

for google image search i just replace the the word images with mail and it works fine for me.

That kinda sucks with your situation sir
but like, as if ever get caught...Use other people's accounts...
I caused mass panic at the school (logging in onto one of my friends account who never used computers) by installing quake 3, counterstrike, command and conquer red alert 2 and some of the mods and maps I had made for them...
It spread so far that practically every year ended up playing it whever they were having a computer class or were in the library... We also played some of the teachers
since I installed it on practically all drives (including C:) they were unable to remove it... They had to introduce new rules which attempted to scare people out of playing...It didn't work...
I'm sure if I went back to school today I could play some games with some stupid year 7's...

That's how my systems used to be set up at my old school. Now no computers have any real restrictions on them, except network ones through Fortiguard.Kirk wrote:Yeah I used to download firefox and stuff and use that, until they blocked downloads period... our school PCs are waaaaaay too restrictive. That's why I don't use them anymore... Macs ftw ;p
(7:15:27 PM) Xenon7: I BRUK THE FIRST PAGE OMGOMGOMG RONALD REGAN
Haha, this reminded me of today in my Engineering class.
Our teacher assigned us an item, and we had to look up a manufacturing process that is cost efficient. So me and my friend Nic were assigned a Putty Knife. So we looked up "How to make a putty knife", and my schools filter blocked it because it's a "WEAPN." Being the retards we are, we thought it was hilarious that it said weapn instead of weapon, so we messed around for a bit, and he suggested I go to google and type in "Legoog." So I type it in, and clicked on the first site it showed. Turns out it was a website that turns everything backwards. So we started researching everything looking at a backwards screen; and in the search bar we had to type the sentences backwards, like this:
"How to make a putty knife"
"efink yttup ekam ot how"
And the school didn't block it, because it was all backwards. We were of course laughing our asses off the whole time because we were trying to read everything backwards.

Pretty much...Not just me as I so claim in my ultimate story of ultimo, but I got my friends to help...Basically we wanted to annoy the staff, we had so many free periods in later years at school that we went around and installed it everywheregalvination wrote:So you installed it to the harddrive on every computer in the school? >_>since I installed it on practically all drives (including C they were unable to remove it...

EXACTLY. my school's biggest security flaw is just that, they hand out everyone their username and password on a little slip of paper (which often end up on the ground in the halls) and then, so they don't forget their password, they have them write their username/password in the FRONT page of their agenda!!!ScottyGEE wrote:...Use other people's accounts...
they've made it tighter this year, but last year, me and my friend boasted over 50 username/password combos.
& rofl at jk-47. that's why school filters are so dumb, they keep you from actually using the internet, like getting pictures of abraham lincoln or whatever for some project you may have.

Our Passwords are our Student ID Numbers and birthdays, for example,[cc]z@nd! wrote:EXACTLY. my school's biggest security flaw is just that, they hand out everyone their username and password on a little slip of paper (which often end up on the ground in the halls) and then, so they don't forget their password, they have them write their username/password in the FRONT page of their agenda!!!ScottyGEE wrote:...Use other people's accounts...

Student ID#
*********
Password:
MM/DD/YY
so some of the lazier students leave their ID's out, or forget them, so we log in as them, and do all our stuff on their behalf.
