Okay, so I rebuilt a map using an older version of H2Core and ended up with distorted ('out of map') sounds. My question is, can I decompile my current map and then rebuild it again with the new version of H2Core?

gir, decompile the the original maps with the objects
then decompile your scenario for your map and rebuild it.
if you did any skin changes, you probably want to decompile the vehicle(an example) from your modded map and then decompile the sounds individually.

ultamis, how are you attempting to change the sky and did you check transfer skies when rebuilding. If you did, it deletes the current sky chunk in the scenario and brings the one that the bsp uses in the other map.

eternal, i think know the problem. im gonna fix it but you are gonna have to rebuild. You wont lose your spawns or changes though.

I claim all BSPs for myself since I'm making an uber campaign to MP mod, so no one can use any of the BSPs from SP, okay?

aww man..... I had a good idea but it used one of your SP bsps....... I'll just scrap the idea
looking forward to that SP mod for MP, I know that latinomodder got the multiple BSPs working in MP a while ago...... make a SinglePlayer map pack for MultiPlayer....... that would be soo sweet

Ok, so I got everything down in the tutorial, and I get to the end where it is rebuilding. It speds about 30 seconds into it, then it stops on the tag, "Processing C:\Tags\H2\sound\sound_mix.sound_mix..." And then it gives me an unhandled exception error. :( Any ideas on what is causing this and how I fix it?

Thinga u should know: My base map is headlong, my bsp that I used is "scenarios/solo/06b_floodzone/sen_hq_bsp_5, and I already checked and found that the tag it gave me an error on is there in C:\Tags\...

at that part of the rebuilding it does the sounds, so make sure every thing that was decompiled, was decompiled recursively. It probably means that a sound is missing or something was decompiled while alot of memory was in use and was decompiled corruptly. try decompiling every thing again with no other apps open. If you are still getting errors then I am unsure.

Yay! It worked! But now I have a very nubish question: where does it save the newly compiled map?

yea, it just over writes.... say if you had a turf and rebuilt it with a clean beavercreek scenario..... it becomes a clean beavercreek, yes I have tested this!

Ok, I get it now: it overrides whatever map was open in H2C while u compile.

So, uhh... any ideas now why Entity gives me an exception when I try to open the SBSP viewer? :x
(Sorry for the many questions, btw.)

Gasgiant (The Arbiter) cinematic_1 BSP works, but it doesn't show up in the BSP viewer. So pretty much if you want to make a level on this BSP, you'll have to do it without seeing the BSP. Good luck.
Halo 3 ruined everything..
