The community is much more interesting than the game itself.

Good point. Still surprises me, though.

That, and the information behind modding. I like to learn about how Halo works and mod it more than I like to play it.

Playing a game via LAN or split screen will ALWAYS be better than playing a game on the internet. The atmosphere of playing the game is a lot more fun, even if you suck at the game. I was playing with my friend vs 4 others, we aren't very good at the game since we don't own xboxes, therefore never playing except at LAN parties, but we did pretty good. We joked around and to tell the truth, did better than some of the other players that have been playing for years. Why? 'cause me and my friend rock at teamwork, and you just can't do that as well online. But that's only half of the reason why LAN/Split is better than online play (in anything, not just Xbox Live)..

Yah, unfortunatley, developers see more sucess and profit in online gaming and with that, they are starting to fall back on split screen co-op or multiplayer gaming...
they still have system link but its truly stupid (1 player per xbox...Sorry, I don't have 16 tv's and 16 360's just lying around for gaming...)

Hopefully the third halo will keep the split screen scene going! :D

Yeah...I agree on the System Link argument. It's more fun to sit around with friends 10 feet away and laugh at every little thing than to play for ranks online. :)

I think Halo was a great franchise, and probably one of the best FPS's. What I don't like about it, or won't like about it when H2V is released, is online Co-Op. I think that would have been an awesome thing for all Halo PC Games. I was kind of disapointed when I found out Halo 3 was the last game, but meh, better than having like 9 in the series (That would just get redundent).

All in all, I think halo is a great series, though I play it much more then I should.

Did this online vs split screen/system link thing arise because of my comment? I'm pretty sure anyone knows that playing with other people next to you is better than playing other people through the internet.

I was just saying that Halo 2 got boring because no one that I usually play with plays anymore.

And lets face it, most people can't have those big system link parties every weekend, so online play is better than nothing. :?

I agree. I'm not gonna complain if Bungie makes the game better by adding more features, as long as they don't take away from the rest of the game to do so.

Incorrect. It's the last game in the story arc...there will be more games, as evidenced by Halo Wars (although if there will be more beyond that is disputable).
