I think this is an appropriate forum. It could lead to discussion and possibly help some people out. I've used Adobe Premiere although I had some problems with codecs, but that was probably my end.

In school on my Mac I use Final Cut Pro. It's very good. At home on my PC I use Vegas. Vegas is great, It's a little hard to get used to. I'd look up tutorials first and use the trial.

I use Camtasia Studio. It has some cool features, and you can record the screen. It also comes with its own audio editor and some other side extensions.

Well...for Windows...I'd guess Adobe Premiere. I've never used it, but I hear it's the best for the money.

On a Mac, I'd definitely go with iMovie.

if you want the best of the best and spend the money like i did get

Adobe Premiere Pro-$1,000 to $2,000
Avid Xpress-$1,428

their the best of the best Avid is what real cinematographers use to produce films. its hard to learn but its fun
