What's a good 3d modeling program besides Wings 3D

Well, I'm new to this forum and you won't know me. So, anyway, What is a good 3d modeling program besides Wings 3d. I need something simple, but still able to make intricate things like Halo guns and vehicles. Thanks a lot and I need a program soon.

Gmax

Wings 3d: when i remodel with wings 3d it doesn't work

Gmax and 3ds Max.

Gmax = Free

3ds Max = $4400+

I would recomend getting Gmax, then when you think your good enough or just want to get 3ds Max get that.
