I beleive that you should have to have a permit to carry a concealed weapon. Like, if you were being stalked or you were working undercover for the police, those are valid reasons for a permit.

People would argue that by the time you could get your permit, it would be too late (assuming the stalker/rapist has made their move).

Someone is going to make some ridiculous point no matter what happens, so I just say do whatever Congress thinks is best.

Yeah, just like if you banned alcohol... oh wait, that Prohibition thing... yeah..

If you ban guns from civilians, the only people who will have them are those who possess them illegally. A lot of gun violence is not committed with licensed, legal firearms. The N. Hollywood bank robberies I believe were with two fully-auto AKs, therefore they were not legally purchased. Just like drugs, people are still going to obtain illegal materials if they're banned. The issue is not so much the regulated legal firearm industry as it is the illegal reselling and smuggling of weapons.

I'm all for gun rights, but I think there needs to be restrictions and heavier regulations on who gets one. I don't have a problem with public or concealed carry licenses either, so long as there is a rigorous process for making sure it's the right people getting these licenses.

i carry a 45 so yes i support it. non-the-less of what anyone or what the law states. This world is becoming more violent as we advance onwards.in a good example look at england.their is alot of crime in england..why is that? because their not allowed to have a gun.case in point-no body is dumb enough to rob you if they know your packin, thus crime is reduced.in alaska almost EVEYONE carries a gun and their worst crime they have is rape wich is decreasing very quickly.so the solution is not to ban guns but to make them more avalible and have more training programs.i mean lets face it robber/criminals dont get guns the honest way anyway so then whats the point of so much deliberation when buying a gun:simple-money.thats it, the more rules the gov can enforce on you the more control they have over you and te more deffensless you are to criminals and a over powered govt.i fell very strongly on the right to bear arms amendment.
