So we have THREE RULE THREADS

Two say I can have an animated sig.
One says I can't.

I'd like to know when I can know what the hell is going on, when I can have or not have my sig, which rules are right, why I have a topic for my sig when I'm not actively posting with that account, or hell, why my accounts aren't merged.

How about you guys stop policing the forums for your petty rules and work on fixing the big issues first, huh?

We're still working on fixing the accounts that weren't merged successfully.

We're also working on a new set of complete rules.

The current signature and avatar rules are as follows:

Signatures: No more than 500x120 pixels and 75kb
Avatars: No more than 80x80 pixels and 10kb.
No animations, period.

It doesn't matter if you're not an active poster at the moment. You can't forget that this forum still contains the old Users and Files forums. You have over 2,000 posts here. People browsing through old threads would still find your signature, which was animated.

One of those things we can't do happens to be posting announcements. Also, the official rules still have not been completely decided upon yet.
So, why don't you just stick with the rules you know will work?.. 500x120, 75KB, no animations.

I know why they weren't, I want to know why they still aren't after repeatedly asking for it to be fixed (to kirk, no less)

We are working on it. There are some things that the 'petty policers' can do, and there's some we can't.

I'm not necessarily complaining about mods, perhaps if we had more admins, or perhaps if one of the admins could "trust you *******."

So, why don't you just stick with the rules you know will work?.. 500x120, 75KB, no animations.

Users had animations allowed and it worked fine.

Actually no, mainly because I can't see reports, I'm not a mod.
And even on users, few people had animated sigs.

Don't act like this is common sense.

I don't think that's the issue right now. The rules are still in conflict with eachother...

We have a new set of rules which should be in effect soon however...

There's a lot of stuff happening right now, you can't expect everything to be instant. If you asked for something to be fixed and it wasn't, that's an issue you need to take up with the person you asked. For right now, the rules stand as Ravn said. We are still working on many things, this being one of them. I updated the rules here and here to reflect this recent issue. If there are any more inconsistencies, please let us know.

How about this. You tell one of the admins to, I don't know, give the moderators actual powers to fix all the goddamn problems, because three goddamn people (Excuse me, make that two) isn't enough to fix this goddamn forum.

I wish I could be a trustable fucker. that would be awesome. I think the rules should just pop out the old and useless instead of creating a whole new list. The general rules have been the same for years.



1.) No flaming,
2.) No Spamming,
3.) No Smoking within 10 feet of Federal Buildings
4.) Keep sig/Av sizes rational,
5.) and respect those that can ban you.(or in the Mods case, go through the arduous process of archiving the post, getting the username and waiting for an admin to get on that may or may not find the incident a big enough deal to do anything about.
